Will Dawes kick 2 goals tomorrow, or Frawley 5, to ensure a Demon player hits the mighty 20 goal total in 2014?

Exciting times

Doubt it, but Jack Watts will probably snag 7!

Dawes is currently equal 66th on the goalkicking ladder, behind such luminaries as Josh Green, Ty Vickery, Matthew White and Jordan Murdoch. GWS have 5 players who have kicked more goals than him.

He's clearly worth every cent of his $500K a season - perhaps we could give him some of Mitch's salary as well.

In fairness the guy is being double tagged, had an interrupted preseason dogged with injuries, and is basically a one man forward line.

But he can't overhead mark to save himself.

yeah but he is our leading goalkicker

i dont see how you can criticize him when the ball hardly goes inside 50 and when it does the delivery is VFL standard

Sad reality and a joke.

Bit like in 2012 when Clark was our leading goal kicker after he went down in round 11 and yet still won the club leading goal kicking.

I hope we look at Jordan Lisle from Brisbane. Big solid 196cm forward who has looked impressive when given opportunity at afl level. Kicks big bags in the NEAFL.

As the song says, "there's only one Tony Lockett".

Who has ever suggested he was like Tony Lockett?

How many does Tyson need to kick 20?

I swear he kicks goals far more regularly than Dawes.

The kid has kicked 14 goals playing predominately as an inside mid in his 3rd year of AFL football. Just turned 21 too.

Its hard not to get excited for this super talent.

double tagged by who, his shadow, his best record over 8 years was 30 in a premiership season with sublime delivery , for him to reach 20 in our side would be more than we could have expected.Double tagged God help me.

I think some of you need to grow a sense of humour, very tongue in cheek.

Or alternatively, someone needs to learn how to convey humour in a written format.

Poor old Fred Fanning would turn over in his grave, kicked more in 1 game

But he talks well so he deserves the extra salary

I thought this thread was going to speculate that we might kick 20 in a game. Fat chance.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
