  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You can't change your handle on instagram, you have to start a new one. If he wanted the pressure of the number 11 gone and to take a step back from the footy world then he'd have to open a new account which is why all his old posts wouldn't be there.

Makes sense hey? Some people here are very quick to turn on a much loved and respected player.

Nah, with the changing Twitter handle and deleting old Instagram posts he's just been laying the groundwork for the biggest heel turn since Hogan joined the nWo. And when it's all done we'll look back and go "how did we not see thay coming?" Edited by Dr. Gonzo

Agreed.

I'm ok with him wanting to return home to Perth

Im not...wherever...whatever, other than playing for Melbourne is a flagrant lie and is contemptible.

Maybe I cant believe a word of his story now.

I am confused ... Mitch better not fool us all. I told my 2 boys that he was ill. Not a traitor. Perhaps its the Perth lifestyle.

Pick 50 from Freo ???

Pick 50, give me a break mate. They can give us Neal or he goes to St Kilda.

Damn... thanks mate.

Still seems more likely to me that he started a new account and closed his old one. Would be a lot of effort deleting all those past posts. Being depressed, it makes sense he'd want to move on from where he was.

Let another club deal with his leg ridden injury.

Its a weight of our shoulders to be honest.

We had back issues when he was playing for Brisbane so obviously he is injury prone.

Doesn't surprise me though, the Rich get Richer and the Poor get poorer.

When I moved here 12 years ago the first interaction I had with a Perth native was when he asked me if I was a "Holden or Ford man?"

Pretty much sums Perth up, v8's, jet skis with superchargers and expensive coffee.

I can't see Mitch moving back here for the lifestyle factor, it's not that great. If it was for family, he'd already be living here.

I'll reserve judgement until a decision is made public.

Because none of us would have wanted to think he was anything other than a decent bloke.. Hindsight will offer up much to the contrary I suspect.

If all dealings are rational and the appropriate process is taken everyone comes out happy, but I just don't see it, looks like stuff is about to get messy. So much behind the scenes y'know, making me feel uncertain.

So many page so read so CBF but if it hasn't been said yet what would you rather?

Mitch delisted and MFC get nothing in return or Mitch decides he want to return but for another club and MFC get some reasonable trade value.

I understand the angst as well as anyone but if he doesn't want to play for the MFC at least we get something from it rather than SFA!

Essentially I agree. Caveat Emptor to his next home.. I want a an arm , a leg and a pint of blood for it all though.

%$@! Melbourne being the pushovers.

I feel dirty for ever considering him a class act.

It was said on 'Ed and Dermy' she was doing a course and that was why he was likely to play for a Vic club. No mention of who is paying for the course but it was mentioned that MC received a very generous payout from the Dees!!

Unlikley we would be paying for the course direcly - not an issue anyway.

I'll wait for the facts on this one as he may not even make it back, but I expect that if he decides to play elsewhere that we play hard ball. Thankfully he is still on our list so it gives us some room to move.

If he does want to play elsewhere I'll be pretty disappointed in a bloke we showed faith in and supported during a dark period of his life.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
