GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Recommended Posts

Yes he is a [censored], he wronged us blah blah blah.

As soon as this deal is done, please lock this thread, do not let it go on and on and on like the Scully one....PLEASE!

Why, you don't have to read it.

It's a choice.

So any news? Are we getting 33 or what?

Personally I want a bit more.

33 and an upgrade of a later pick maybe?

33 and a fringe player Roos thinks can have an impact.?

I saw an AFL article this morning that said MFC were after Geelong second and third round picks for Clark. We'd then attempt to ontrade the 2nd round pick to the Pies for Lumumba, although the Pies want our second round pick...

We Should trade Mitch Clark and at least get something for him then I think we should go to the AFL and ask them to investigate Mitch Clark an see if they can find out if he has been doing what I think he has and he obviously has been shopping around clubs because he wanted out and he had another year to run on his contract and there is no way we would have let him go otherwise so he and his manager worked out this plan there is no way he has depression as bad as he said it was otherwise he wouldn't be back until 2016. So the club should ask the AFL to investigate can you imagine if the AFL found out the truth they would have no choice but to charge him for tampering with the draft and the worst penalty he could get is be taken off Geelong's List and suspended for 2 years and then after his suspension is over have to go back in the Draft that would teach him a lesson but somehow I think he will get away with it

Take a breath dude.

Mate, seriously, break it up into sentences FFS.

Machsy, he did. Two sentences.

I'm surprised the deal hasn't been done yet.

I hope it's because we are playing hardball.

We can play hardball, and if GEELONG don't agree to our terms it can be their fault the deal didn't transpire.

Then we can trade him to North for Greenwood and Collingwood can keep labamba. Win/win/win

Actually, why has it not been done?

According to Mahoney we are waiting to hear what Geelong will offer and he emphasized that Mitch is a very good player. Given we have been 'waiting' for 3 days and turned down the players offered, my take is Geelong haven't offered enough.

I just hope we keep some of the spoils (if a 2nd and 3rd rnd pick) for ourselves rather than give all for Lumumba. Happy to have Lumumba but Mitch is a match winner and we could do with an extra pick to help trade out a player we don't want to keep.

We should we not be playing hardball! Why only get a second round and then immediately on-trade it to Collingwood? We would be better off telling Mitch and the Cats that we have decided to trade Mitch to Collingwood for HL, and make it simpler for us! Surely the main advantage of dealing with the Cats must be that we emerge with at least steak knives ( if not a reasonable quality cutlery set)? Edited by CBDees

I'm all for playing hardball, and if we this means we get nothing and Mitch gets screwed, it's better than letting Geelong screw us.

What are the odds that Geelong won't come up with the goods, so Mitch will wait until the dying minutes of Trade Week & then sign with someone else??? The look on Balme's face would be priceless.

what do you all think about Melbourne trading M.Clark & pick 23 for Geelong pick 14.

gives us either a much better bargaining chip for other trades or access to higher level talent.

ie. ontrade pick 14 and 3 to Adelaide for P.Dangerfield while keeping pick 2 for the beast McCartin

Mitch cannot sign with someone else at the end of trade week because he is still contracted to us until 31 October!

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
