If by "smash" you mean "Go the Daniel Merrett route", then I agree. The AFL has all but condoned it with their ridiculous decision not to suspend that F L O G.

I think it'll be the upset of the round if we get to within 5 goals.

Let's just hope we can see some of the form and composure that resulted in our wins this year. Last week was a total shocker and we're much better than that.

I reckon Roosy will have the boys peaking and we'll shock the Hawks enough to be leading by half time but will run out of puff after that and the errors will creep in.

Hawks are way too classy. Thinking that we're any chance to win tomorrow is completely ludicrous - as much as I'd love it.

Coming within 10 points against a team like Hawthorn/Port makes losing to teams like Brisbane/Bulldogs far more difficult to swallow

Zero chance.

That said, I've got $50 at $11 for the Melbourne win.

I'm a delusional [censored].

Sportsbet offering $14

So rather than not winning $550, you can not win $700 instead.

Something like that.

They were $8.50, not collecting $425 is hardly worth mentioning.

Not much fun either putting $100 on the Hawks to get $103 back.

I'd rather swallow than take it in the rear like we have been doing these past eight years.

Not much of an option though is it

Hawthorn's lowest score this year is 86 points against Port Adelaide in round 10. We've reached 86 points once this year, against Richmond in round 9.

The chances of us keeping the margin under ten goals are so small that such a number hasn't been invented yet.

Good luck to anybody thinking of attending.

Sportsbet suggest Hawthorn 60+ should pay $2.10, it's about as likely as not.

Sure, let's explode the tone of the finals run. That'd be terrific entertainment.

In the interests of keeping this AFL season fun and outright wacky, we really ought to win this game.

For those who MUST have a betting interest may I suggest the Line odds of 9 or 10 goals start for a 90% return will at least give you a run for your money .

I don't expect us to win, hell I don't expect a whole lot of good to happen tomorrow, but I want the Hawks to be forced to grind out a win against us. I want the hawks players to come off the ground and know that they've had to work for the victory for 4 quarters.

My checklist of desires for tomorrow:

- attack the footy hard with relentless pressure

- execute basic skills, kick goals when they are on a platter

- be in the game a 3qtr time

- Dawes to kick 2+ goals and have an impact

Honestly, I'm Fukin around...don't think we will win. But I really hope we can challenge the Hawks and earn some respect from the AFL community. This is the best oppurnity to show our improvement so ye I'm excited even though I'm pretty sure we're going to lose.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
