The non fifty to Dawes, the goal that somehow wasn't advantage, Dawes was held on the ground for twenty plus seconds and kept from contesting the ball with no free

I hope the club ask for a please explain it was close to as one sided as I have seen

Taking nothing away from the pies they deserved to win.

Jones kicked our first 23 secs in, so we technically went the whole match with only 2 goals.

Stunning logic. Well done. Apparently goals in the first minute of the game don't count now.

Bitterly disappointing. Well outclassed by a quality side.

not that outclassed.I know its often said but they had a few lucky bounces and definitely the favour of the maggots but I dont think we were outclassed... beaten ..yes

Technically the first 23 seconds are still included in the whole game. Although the rules committee are pushing to remove them next year.

We obviously do not have a forward line but when players like Clark(retired) and Hogan (injured) were part of our pre season plan it is difficult to cover those losses. Lynden Dunn by far our best player today and our most improved, but unfortunately despite the fact we kept a top four side to 8 goals Bloody McDonald (Far too slow and no football brain) and Garland (best years behind him) did not perform, we did a good job.. We now need to get the forward line right... Frawley has to go back (and I would never pay more than $400,000 for him) We are definitely on the right track and Roosey is the man to take us there.. We are on the improve. OK Viney, Tyson and even Jonesy were down but we are heading in the right direction.. I have no doubt we will be further up the ladder next season and possibly will climb a couple of rungs this year and let's not get too disappointed about today... Howe back to the forward line may help..We were playing a top 4 side and kept them to their second lowest score in 20 plus years..

Are you stupid or just being a sook?

From the time we kicked our first we basically played a full match kicking only two more goals, not hard to work out is it. Now put your dummy back in.

LOL. I'm the stupid one. This guy!

I thought we were generally OK, but we didn't make the most of our opportunities in attack.

Firstly, we were inaccurate which cost us momentum at times where we had it. Secondly, we didn't move the ball quickly enough when we had the opportunity to expose them.

One thing that I really noticed, which has been an issue for a while, was that we often lacked the guy with explosive pace to open up the game when things were a bit stagnant. They were able to do it a few times with O'Brien and Swan, but we didn't have that element to break the play open in a low scoring game.

Late in the game you could see Collingwood's older players running over us and some of our younger players couldn't keep the running going. Salem, especially, struggled to run out the game and I would think that he'll be at Casey next week to play some proper midfield minutes.

Overall, it's encouraging but we have some holes in our team to fill.

I'm pretty sure Jamar jarred his knee taking a mark and was subbed off a couple of minutes later. Before that he was playing really well.

Garland had a shocking disposal game. He couldn't hit the side of a barn today.

McDonald was just well beaten. They took him to the goalsquare and led hard and straight and just burnt him for pace.

Salem and JKH, I agree were both shown up today. I think Salem getting pinged early for that shocking HTB might have dented his confidence and made him hesitate attacking the ball. Both of them looked uncertain and lost. Maybe time for a break at Casey to find a bit of the ball?

On the bright side, Pedersen continues his good form, as does Jetta, Dunn did really well on Cloke, and probably has to be called the winner on points. Grimes and McDonald kicked quite well as well which is noce to see.

Vince and N. Jones were very strong in the midfield and Cross tagged nicely. Jamar is rucking really well. Watts kept leading hard and was rewarded today with people actually spotting him and giving him good service. Would have been close to BOG if he'd nailed those two goals.

Overall, it wasn't a great day for us. Not enough players stood up for us. The eight listed above were winners, but the rest I think could have done much better.

For the part of the game Collingwood were awake, we only kicked two goals.

I suppose that it's a positive that far from our best we are still within five goals of the pies who are a genuine tip four team

This is what stood out for me. Crying out for a line breaker. A little bit too pedestrian right across the ground.

It was a long day. Things didn't go our way today. The umpiring was woeful and we were beaten by a better team. It sucks.

Thoroughly enjoyed melbournes play, I like that we hold the football. Skill execution by players stopped it from being a much closer game, that said it shows melbournes improvement again.

The forwards needed to not slow down when running at the football, this allowed a few spoils.

Salem probably needs a rest.

My take, we have to get used to the umpiring, obvious decisions every week going against us, but the Pies decision making overall was a class above. That was the difference.

And you're a primary administrator?

Honestly, what don't you get? I'd be interested to know? It's a fact. Also, I did not say you were stupid nor did I say the first goal doesn't count...

I assume you don't know what 'technically' means. 'Technically' was about the only word you couldn't have used in the context you used it.

Nasher is correct in pointing out that your sentence was 'technically' incorrect. Although you are now pointing out that you have 'practically' no understanding of the english language.

I understand that Roosy is trying to the develop the team with a defence first mindset, but there does come a time when you have to realise, that you need to kick goals to win games and equally, have a forward line to kick it too. Whats more, have good delivery into the forward line. But let's not get carried away with the how to's.

But 3 goals ain't gonna win you a lot of games.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
