The revisionism on this site is nauseating. In the past Dunn was an exceedingly average player, being a combination of lack of fitness, poor development and being played in too many positions.

Fact is over recent times he's managed to bulk up considerably while increasing his endurance. He's nailed down a position in the team and has learned to play his role consistently week-in-week out. The transformation has been quite astounding and a three-year deal is a testament to him.

But don't try and be that guy who says "I saw it all along". No one did. Get over yourself.

I don't like slinging off at posters on this site but you're too much.

Not me, truthfully, but a good mate who takes his footy seriously has long said the guy has what it takes and should be persevered with.

That you didn't, that you rushed to judgement is no reason to have a crack at better judges than you.

the way i read the bit about his mum was that they hadn't spoken for 3.5 years when she phoned up and became rent-a-quote story-maker.

I was mostly referring to the idea that 'a smooth sea never made a skilful sailor' and that if you come through the tough times, you'll be a stronger person for it. These experiences galvanise a person.

And I wasn't saying he had a philosophy on upbringing. I was saying that I come from a broken home too, so I guess I can relate to some of his experiences. But, now that you mention it, I admire and share his view on raising children - putting children before relationship rubbish. I have close to zero respect for those parents whose immaturity is so great that they can't help but slagging off their ex in front of their children. Those people shouldn't be parents.

It put an interesting perspective on 'that' phone call after the Essendon game. What motivation did she have to do that?

It just goes to show that a lot of us punters on here don't always know the full story.

Yes, thats a very good insight into his journey, & probably explains a lot, having to deal with these issues at an important time in his life. He has done very well considering all these hefty knocks along the way..

I like his determination to look after his boys personal development.

I think that was common knowledge at the time of the phone call.

Most MFC supporters were saying "WTF? How would she know?"
