Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Release Of All Indigenous Guernseys

On the AFL site they have released all indigenous Jumpers to see.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-05-27/indigenous-round-jumpers

The Demons guernsey really stands out and looks impressive and not overdone as most of us already probably know.

Some absolutely horrendous ones in there though...The GWS looks to have hired a child to do their art to add to the monstrosity of their already already discraceful jumper & GC is just terrible also..the Dogs & Hawks not far behind IMO...Carlton is just poor to say the least and could have done something more inspiring I think.

Crows/Lions look very good and Saints not too bad either along with the Tigers Turtle under sash look.

Well done MFC anyhow.

Crows, Kangas, Swans, Freos and ours I like... the award for the worst has to go to the Cats... why couldn't they have done something similar to the Kangas to take the stripes out of the foreground (really really poor effort).

I also like the fact that the Swans design was done by Goodes' mother; makes it a little more "special" (to paraphrase Bruce McAvaney) I suppose.

My somewhat cynical and and biased thoughts:

Adelaide: Congratulations your child is ready to graduate from finger painting

Carlton: token league imposed marketing effort

Collingwood:as above

Geelong: a high school kid is bored in class and scribbling over his text book, must of edited out the dicks

Gold Coast: yes you had a child and subscribed to the gimmick of getting a hand print

GWS: A worm crawled out of your Apple?

Hawthorn: On a budget and sewed together previous examples

North Melbourne: Got a deal on fabric from spotlight and slapped a logo on front

St Kilda: latest effort from Piping hot, most 10 year olds will be attracted to this

Port: Inoffensive basketball singlet for away games

Swans: Tribute to Pacman?

Eagles: Throwing a net over a fat poorly drawn bird?

Bulldogs:When every child is given a crayon to contribute to the class poster

Fremantle, bargain bin at the caravan park kiosk, marketed for Scandanavian backpackers on a budget

Lions: ruined it with a lion, seriously just ditch the lion for a round. A bit like a bikini model with a full back tattoo, may appeal to a niche, but not necessary

Richmond, Essendon, Melbourne, like the understated appeal to them, with a nod to some previous efforts by the NZ warriors heritage round styling

I really like West Coast's!

Too many have ditched their actual jumper to just chuck on some aboriginal drawings.

Eagles have kept the Eagle and incorporated the aboriginal side to it. That wins for me.

Ours is certainly top 3 though. Alot of rubbish in there.

Not keen on the Eagles' effort... has me wondering if they will be entering the field of play decked out in turquoise jewellery and running through a giant dream catcher.

Like the Brisbane and Freo jumpers. GC and GWS are terrible. Ours is more subtle, not badly over the top or cheap looking.

The MFC has always had pretty tasteful "special occasion" jumpers... the St Pat's Day green (I bought Jurrah's at auction), the Field of Women with the pink V and lady print, the Shanghai Showdown with the dragon on the side and players name in Chinese characters (bought Warnock's at auction - see a theme happening here? I better not buy anymore) and now this Indigenous Round jumper. Kudos to our designers.

Adelaides, brisbanes, essendon, freo, melbournes, ports and richmonds are all pretty good looking jumpers. Carltons and collingwoods are ordinary, and geelongs, gc and GWS are easily the worst in there. The rest don't really stand out or look bad imo

In no particular order, my favs are Adelaide, Brisbane, Hawthorn, and us.

One observation is that Hawthorn's is a hell of a lot better than their "traditional" one (not a difficult feat, mind you).

Brisbane's is my favourite.

I think Brisbanes is pretty classy & the Crows has a colorful zest to it. We would be top 3 for design without being biased.

Nth have gone completely overboard inturn making their guernsey look like a curtain from 1971. Errgh..First it was Argentina...now the Curtain..Good one Norf.

West Coke I'm not sure on...at first I like.... but now I look again & well I dunno...but its better than GWS....looks like a couple of ringworms really..Which will suit Scully nicely.

Maybe they couldnt afford a better design because of his current pay packet at GWS.

The dogs is just rubbish seriously..OMG.

No disrespect to the indigenous here is meant..but some clubs simply have done a half a$$ job to showcase great looking Guernseys & highlight the indigenous round of our game.

Next we need to get rid of the BS White Jumper if we can IMO. White is not a color of the Demons.. bar the numbers on the back.

Anyhow it is a great idea to have done this Indigenous round for all clubs & the fans & the people involved.

I'm looking forward to challenging Port with hopefully JKH on show!

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
