Why not? There's 14,000 already with a great cause with the BCNA. Why don't we get out too?

We are off the mats for the first time in seven years. The membership is at 34,000. The ability is there. Let's get the word out. 50k at the G to support cancer, to support the Dees and watch them knock off the Dogs. It would be an amazing 'Melbourne are BACK' moment.

as we have all realised for a long time, the far and away most effective way to get bums on sits is to play competitive footy and actually get a scalp or two.. now that we have finally done that we should see a good turnout, i'm tipping there will be a LOT of hard-boiled jaded types attending their first live game of the season

I know its a terrible thing to think about but if we do get a big crowd do the proceeds go to us or BCNA?

Look forward to this game - don't know if i have any pink though.

I left the bunker this morning and arrived in Melbourne for ten days work. Was at the Carlton game but this will be my first home game got the year. Bring on the Redlegs.

I'm nearly tempted to hang around the following weekend to watch us end Hardwicks career.

I like Hardwick and I'd be sorry for him to get let go. He's been one of the few coaches that has stuck up for the Dees when the media have fired potshots at us over the years.

Myself, mrs sassy ( newly converted Melbourne supporter), and her brother will be there, possibly not wearing pink but fairly keen to buy one of the pink jumpers.

Its a fantastic night. Last time I was very close to the centre of the MCG in the drizzle with my pink poncho on. What broke my heart was seeing loads of men, cradling a framed photo of a loved once who had succumbed to this terrible disease with tears running down their faces. Some of these guys were big, tough blokes all bought together with something in common.

I locked eyes with the great Jimmy - will never forget that moment. Went along with my friend who was not a Melbourne supporter but a breast cancer sufferer in her mid 40's - her prime of life. She unfortunately lost her battle 18 months ago. My mum is battling this terrible disease at the moment. I will be there for her.

Remember if you plan on coming, you need to get there early ( I think it is about 4.30pm) as it takes a bit of organising to get everyone on the field but it is truly the most amazing feeling when the put the picture of the pink lady up on the TV screen.

I would crawl over broken glass to be there.

Good on you jane02. Well said.

I predict 34,000 to 39,000: 10,000 of the remaining contributors staying with their free tickets, 15-20k Melbourne fans, 10-15k Dogs fans, depending on weather.

Fight me.

All good BB, I'll be making plenty of noise. I'm normally the bloke standing in a pub in NSW by himself making more noise than the other 100 people watching the league.

Cow whisperers like you, jazza? Plenty of those four-legged beasts in that area ...

The only game on in Melbourne this weekend. Soccer finished. AHG should give away a car. MFC supporters should be banned from watching Fox/Seven this weekend. For once lets give the players a roar they haven't heard since Brock McLean sealed the game and Grant Thomas in '06.
