He cant/wont even be prepared to do the basics; block, run and carry, defend, mark. It's basics you cant teach a player. They either have the hunger or they dont.

Exactly right and anyone who defneds this by saying "that's not his job" or "he's an outside player" doesn't know footy.

Salam has shown more in 10 minutes than 80 minutes from Howe and Watts. Can we just copy watts and howe and go ctrl x but never paste them again? They dont deserve to be in this team

I want Howe back in the forward line.

How quickly people forget Watts hasn't gotten over his debut game.

Need I remind you that this is ANZAC round. I think if our fathers and grandfathers can serve in battle and come back to tell the tale, Jack Watts can get over the "indignancy" of being given the opportunity to participate in the Queens Birthday game at the age of 18.

He needs to get over it. He has a choice, start fresh now with a new mindset, or sit back in his chair at 40 knowing he wasted a ton of potentual but will forever be a forgotten AFL player, and a disgrace at that! Perceive this as unfair, then start watching him when one on one.

Watts and Howe's lake of defensive pressure probably cost us 3 goals. Evans and Nicholson would have resulted in a closer result. This said I thinm Roos will be able to get Watts and Howe performing.

This crap about Watts being mistreated needs to end. If that's the biggest concern is his life he's doing alright, it was nearly five years ago.

Need I remind you I posted this amongst others earlier in the week. It was having a go at those that still defend him. If you can be bothered read pages 3&4 of this thread.

If Roos does not send a Watts back to Casey, then I will seriously consider not bothering to front up in front of the tele next weekend.

we must get ANY who will not work for the team, OUT of this side; or our good kids like JK-H & Salem will learn their lazy habits. this is how hard workers give up. when more senior players just sandbag & bludge.

Watts2Casey.

"A good Brighton Grammar Footballer" on his epitaph. I rated him for so long; but when intensity and workrate is VAFA level, Roos has no choice. He doesn't even take them on, with the predictable get ball, stop and check to give off at the back. Guess what, not even a shepherd after the handball.

Casey shouldn't even be a week either.

Picked up the ball beautifully one handed in the last Q and then stopped pannicked and gave a dodgy handball to a team mate under pressure.

Why did he just not keep running???

Watts and I think it was Howe coped a spray from Roos and what ever he was saying to them when he finished he wasn't impressed.

Will be interesting to c if he is in the team next week against the cows.

VAFA, I've seen more efforts from under 14's.

I cannot believe how Watts manages to convince himself he doesn't need to chase or to tackle with any ferocity? theres nowhere to hide, so how does he tell himself he OK as is.

Jack the easiest thing in footy is to bust a gut chasing with full throttle. running down your opponent. even greyhounds are smart enough to workout its the thing to do.

Exactly, take the game on. His has pace on his side.

Watts must go back to Casey. No intensity. No will to contest.

Again he is a basketballer.

Don't start hanging it on basketballers sons.

There is plenty of intensity in basketball.

I watched Jack amble around the ground tonight with no intent or desire to enter the contest.

I've come to the conclusion he is incapable of changing and no matter how many weeks he spends at Casey it won't be enough, he is simply not up to the task.

I doubt any other club would want him so we won't even get a trade for him and he will probably have to serve his time out at Casey. He is as soft as any footballer I've ever seen, if he watches the replay of tonight's game, he will be embarrassed by his lack of effort.

Lazy footballer.

All I have herd about is his record breaking sprint at the draft combined but we never see him use it.

He has the skills to be a player like Travis Johnston if he actually tried.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
