No. Dawes was an extreme circumstance where both he and the footy department rolled the dice. He also spent a lot of time on the bench, not sure what his TOG% was but doubt it would be over 70%. Dawes came in because it was a choice between Dawes and Fitzy, that's an easy call. Garland stays out because we have Georgiou, McDonald, Pedo etc filling his role.

Toumpas should be considered for the half back flank spot of Terlich's. Whilst Clisby would be the safer bet due to more hardness and less errors they should consider Toumpas as he has much more scope. If Jimmy plays a good game at half back today then I think they should consider him.

I'd like to see Trengove back in the midfield/half forward mix but right now I think McKenzie, Kent, JKH, Watts, Bail and Evans all did enough to retain their spots. Plus I truly do think Trengove needs the extra games to really work on things like moving the ball faster and taking the game on.

It will be nice to see no unforced changes.

However, I want to see him string a few good games together in the 2s and then give him a couple of weeks at senior level. If he goes well, keep him, otherwise keep dropping him back to Casey until he develops that consistency needed.

His pace is the issue for the HB spot. We need speed back there. We have consistently been thrashed by teams with fast small forwards who run rings around our medium pace defenders and kick bags. It's no co-incidence that we finally beat Carlton when they've booted Betts and dropped Garlett, two players who used to tear us apart.

Yes, he did a few good things but looked lost at times, especially watching him behind play, which reminded me of Toumpas last year. Nothing to lose by letting him develop with the other kids at casey. He will be an absolute star in the future. Roos will know best and he'll likely play again next week but let's not stuff another junior up.

He's played four games so yes he is, I am not one for pumping up the players, but I reckon he will keep his spot unless Roos decides he needs a rest, for one reason to begin with, he does exactly what his role is

His pace could be an issue, RM, but it doesn't necessarily have to be. Geelong had guys like Hunt, Mackie and Enright off half back. I wouldn't have called any of them speedy. It's about being able to make the right decision and then execute by hand or foot. Toumpas was drafted for his disposal. That's the position Roosy should be saying is his target.

You would imagine after a win we'd have minimal changes, especially given there have been minimal changes even after losses. From what I've read of Casey there wasn't anyone who put in a "pick me" sort of game, just a few very good games from the likes of Clisby, Jetta, Salem, and Toumpas. The latter two I am very comfortable with being given more time at Casey to develop under no pressure until they do put in one of those "pick me" games. Jamar sounds as though he still needs time in the VFL and Garland played for the Casey 2nds so it sounds as though he will be given a week at Casey seniors to get him match fit.

Jetta has been very consistent and with Trenners out for the season I'd like to see him upgraded and given a crack at restarting his career.

One, possibly two, changes for me.

Assuming Terlich does not pass his fitness test then Clisby comes in as Strauss has only had the one run and will probably need another VFL game.

The only two other players worth discussing as INS for this week are Jamar and Toumpas.

Jamar is highly unlikely this week because GC only have the one big ruckman - Nicholls - so I can't see any need to go mega big, especially as the Suns strength is speed in midfield.

But on the other hand, Roosy may want to try and exploit their lighter-bodied bigs - although I doubt this.

Toumpas must also be a big chance and is a monte to be named in 25 on Thursday night.

The fact that he played down back a bit in the VFL is a plus as it adds versatility to our line up and he may well be the sub.

The two that would possibly make room would be Evans (last week's sub) or JKH.

Anyone who thinks anyone else is going to be left out - unless injured - just wasn't at the game last week.

The week after against Sydney, I suspect Roosy will want a more physical side and Jamar will be a big chance and Garland should be right by then.

I am prepared to cop some hate for this post, but I would have dropped Terlich regardless of his hammy. I know the bloke tries but from what I see he is the clumsiest disposal in the team. Until he starts hitting targets I will continue to see him as one of those blunders Mark Neeld made to try and even out the average age of the team (Magner, Rodan, Byrnes, etc).

I would straight up swap him for Garland next week. We saw this week with Dawes what limited match fitness but on-field leadership does to a side (read: our side). Clisby if Garland is unavailable.

And I know that some Demonlanders are saying he played his breakout game against the Blues, but I still have no time for Rohan Bail. Unfortunately for me I know I just have to suck it in until we see some depth in this shallow list of ours.

I can't stand seeing him get the ball because I expect every kick to be a turnover; on Saturday that may well have been the case. His decision-making is also not great. And as for his defending, I don't think it's been that good. Het let Ellard get the better of him, and that's not the first time that's happened to Terlich.

He has a lot of courage and strength, but he's a liability with the ball in hand and I don't think he's doing a great job defending. I'd drop him if he's not injured (and replace him with whoever is the better on VFL form out of Clisby, Jetta and Strauss).

I think Jetta has had a few opportunities and just hasn't taken advantage of them, he also takes a game or two to adjust to the increased tempo; Clisby for mine.

Mackie and Enright bring height and aerial ability to the game. JT is very weak in this area, if you don't have pace then you need to have other aspects.

I want to see Toumpas given a chance to develop as an AFL small defender. I don’t think he is quick enough or tough enough to play as an outside mid and his lack of pace and marking ability mean he isn’t that effective as a forward.

While rjay is correct that Toumpas will probably cost us goals due to his lack of pace and average ability in the air, with McDonald and Georgiou in the back half, we need some better distributors off half back. I also think that Toumpas’s aerial weakness and lack of pace can be camouflaged to some extent by good team defence around him. It also helps that, as a defender, he only has to neutralise the marking contests.
