My understanding it is 100% television.

The industry claims One team in predominantly white is the best for viewing.

If you look at USA sport just about all televised sport has one team ( The Away team) in a predominately white outfit.

Calling it a clash jumper is basically BS

If the industry had its way it would be the home team in their std outfit and the away team in white.

It has to be - I used to play for a club who were the Essendon strip - we played against a team who wore the Melbourne jumper and I never had a problem with it.

Basically it doesn't matter what it looks like, it depends on whether we have success in the jumper. Much like the Brisbane lions returning to their guernsey from their premierships 10 years back.

I would be more than happy if the club could negotiate with the league to wear the pink jumper which will feature in the field of women round . I love the color and the hose and believe that it looks very striking and would be an excellent clash jumper for evermore!

AFL deems Collingwood's home jumper to be 'dark' (it's based on black), and Geelong's to be 'light' (it's based on white).

Therefore, they don't deem this to be a clash.

I'm not justifying the policy, just explaining it.

Whats the bet we wear the white jumper on Sat against Carlton, but on Sunday night Carlton and Essendon both had there traditional jumper which too me is a bigger clash than Melb and Carlton.

That is not correct. Collingwood completely refused forever to wear anything other than jailbird stripes. They got away with it. MFC should do the same and refuse to wear anything but red and blue traditional colours with V red. It's this kind of thing that makes us look weak and reduces morale.

Isn't the clash with the saints from behind where their all black is closer to our mainly navy blue with small amount of red.

So on TV when they players are seen from behind (90% of the time) it's harder to tell them apart?

Collingwood did not want to move away from black and white, so they settled upon their white jumper with black stripes, which solves their problems.

If you think wearing white 'makes us look weak and reduces morale' then you obviously don't watch us play. If you did, you'd realise that our ineptitude is what makes us look weak and destroys morale.

Wearing white has nothing to do with anything. It only angers people like you who personally don't like it. The other 99% of the AFL world could not care less.
