It would be truly difficult for Mitch, considering how much he loves his football and also the club. Not being able to play would be depressing and I echo all of our statements in wishing Mitch the best and hoping that he can take all the time he needs to get back to where he wants to be

I received an email today suggesting that he may not play again and it was from a usually very reliable source, I hope it's wrong.

BTW another part of the rumour was he had altered his running style to accommodate the foot injury and that had lead to soft tissue injuries.

I posted this back in January and it seems as if it was pretty close to the mark.

We all do bb, it would be really good to have him out on the park with Hogan and maybe Dawes; pipe dreams I guess.

Supposedly he's recently done a calf. I don't see how that reflects your earlier comments.

The word " supposedly" might cover that Hannibal

Yes, that's why i included it.

Obviously.

more obvious id suggest was a leaning towards casting aspersions towards the veracity of Robbie F's post.

I really dont believe a lot of what FDs offer as to reasons for injuries etc. Just saying ;)

It's exactly what the 2nd part of the comments are saying.

He is doing soft tissue injuries because of a change in running style due to the previous foot injury. It may or may not be true but does have a basis in logic.

I was told a Hammy last night, but whether it is a calf or Hammy, it's still a soft tissue injury.

The problem I have with your post and your revival of this thread is you've made 2 seperate rumours

1. He may never play again

2. He's suffering soft tissue injuries due to a chance of running style

The second is what the club has pretty much told us and would mean he's back at some stage be it 4 weeks, 14 weeks or next year

The first is a whole different proposition. That you are right on point 2 is irrelevant to point 1.

He had to alter his running style because of the foot injury and that's causing the soft tissue problems; that clearer? If his altered running style continually causes soft tissue problems and they can't sort it out he may be unable to continue. At the moment they don't seem to have an answer.

Can't see what it is you can't understand.

Where has it been mentioned that his running style has changed ?

I'm not saying it hasn't, just that I don't recall hearing it from the club.

That was from an email I received from, as I said, "a usually reliable source". The information was supposed to have come from someone who would know, I can't say any more.

Once again, I also said I hope it's not correct, but the way things have panned out it seems plausible.

I think it speaks volumes for his leadership within the club that, even after all the injuries and the amount of football he has missed, that he is still voted in by the players and coaches to be a part of the leadership group.

Got everything crossed he can get over the bumps in the road and once again become a key cog in our push to be a better club on the field.

someone might like to link this thread to him on twitter.
i know for a fact (as i personally know some players from the past and present) that the players are encouraged not to look at this website or other fan forums but this is full of honest praise for the big guy and hopefully lets him know that we are all still behind him!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
