Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

My 'like' button would not have troubled by many of the above...

This is where you should take 18 year old ruckmen (if you take them at all) but I hope they realise that this is 2, possibly 3, years on the RL (if it exists for that long) and then 2 years on the Primary List before this selection comes to anything.

Nice highlights.

Looks as good a prospect as you could get at 18 years and 200cm.

Nice sticky hands. Like the look of him.

If King is to come on as hoped, he'll probably take as long as Fitzy has to make an impression.

Fitzy was drafted in 2008, so by all rights we shouldn't be expecting much from King until 2018.

He will take time no doubt, but Fitzy has had other problems which slowed his development.

Interesting to hear Jason Taylor say that he could strengthen our defence. I would have thought he was too tall for a KPD but he does look coordinated and agile.

200cm is the new 195 so he's every chance to be a KPP as much as a ruck. Probably looking at his highlights he might fall in to ruck/forward job long term but I'd have no concerns starting him in defense next year. If all our talls are healthy the leftovers at Casey will likely by Fitzy and another 1 or 2 rucks and Pedersen down back. So the easiest way for King to play VFL seniors might be in the backline.

Any Casey seniors for a guy of his height and draft position in year 1 is a positive.

Maybe, but don't discount the facts that Fitzy had pre-existing chronic fatigue and then the life changing diagnosis of diabetes to contend with as well.

Based on the highlights packages, he'd be my favourite of the three newbies. Looks very agile for a big guy and already would be the best kick amongst our rucks, though admittedly not saying much. :) Could be the ideal second ruck in a future Max attack.

Just looked at his highlights again and am not sure he will fit in......did a very nice hit out but it was to advantage, AND then he actually followed it up with a handball receive and dish off. Will confuse his teammates with that sort of stuff.

I like this! I also like young Max--a lot! I think he is a more natural mark than either his brother Max or Spencer. And he knows where the goals are too. A couple of bits of great crumbling football. I will bet this kid makes it.

it may be imperceivable to some but he list is taking a whole new direction. I like it. You can already see the foundations of the cull list next year. yeah yeah I know., harsh thinking but i bet the FD already have such a thing.

everyone picked this year can play footy, they can kick, they can use the ball. They might not be the utmost sparkling gems but they will be jewels in our next crack !! mark my words

Yeah, I doubt it. Not only are the odds stacked against Hunt, Harmes, and King making it, Georgiou looks nothing more than decent cover for a few games where Garland and/or Frawley are injured, and Jetta is a known jack-of-all commodity.

I would have preferred to get some ready made role players in the late in the ND/RL rather than more projects...

So many of our high end talent need work and attention. I just don't see the need to bring in low end talent that require just as much work.

One thing I will say is that the trade period/DFA did get some bigger bodies, but Michie, Tyson, and Riley will require work too, they are not plug in and play like Cross and Vince. Which leaves one 'net' one of these with Sylvia gone.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
