Here is the current list with their numbers.

1 Jesse Hogan 2 Nathan Jones 4 Jack Watts 5 Jimmy Toumpas 6 Chris Dawes 7 Jack Viney 8 James Frawley 9 Jack Trengove 10 Shannon Byrnes 11 Mitch Clark 13 Jordie McKenzie 14 Lynden Dunn 17 Sam Blease 19 James Strauss 20 Colin Garland 21 Cameron Pedersen 22 James Magner 25 Tom McDonald 26 Daniel Nicholson 31 Jack Grimes 32 Michael Evans 33 Dom Barry 34 Dean Kent 35 Luke Tapscott 37 Max Gawn 38 Jeremy Howe 39 Neville Jetta 40 Mark Jamar 42 Jake Spencer 43 Rory Taggert 44 Rohan Bail 45 Matt Jones 46 Dean Terlich 48 Jack Fitzpatrick 49 Nathan Stark 50 Mitchell Clisby Dom Tyson Bernie Vince Viv Michie

The following numbers are vacant:

3, 12, 15, 16, 18, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30, 36, 41, 47

What numbers would you like to see the new comers get? Are there any vacant numbers that you would like to reserve?

Isn't Hogan number 1?

Forgot about the Hoges. I think he is #1.

I got the list off the MFC website and they have already taken Colin off the list. When does Hoges officially become a Demon?

I suppose after second list lodgement. He may already be classed as on the list though, as he played NAB cup last year and was listed in the record.

I think a few players will graduate to lower numbers......Fitz, Terlich, Matty Jones, Taggert, Spence....

Then the new fellas will get whats left over

Vince.....12

Michie....16

Tyson.....18

Pick No.9.15

My guess anyway FWIW....

how about #69?

To which Mrs. Wong replied

"if you think I'm going to get out of bed at this time of night to go and make Lemon batter Chicken then you're mistaken"

Oh no. Not this again...

Agree wholeheartedly.

Numbers mean nothing.

(But Fitzy looks great in #48 - the only improvement would be #1, elongated all the way down his back from neck to tuck in, to make him look even taller and lankier, but that is taken.)

I'm thinking Tyson will keep #29

If you watch the videos he wore 29 during the tac cup and also for GWS....we have #29 free at the moment...so why not keep him in 29.

they should put all the numbers in a big barrel and all players (new and old) pick a new number

just takin da pizza :)

BINGO!

So how much do I win?

From the available numbers only Tyson has a number that he was wearing from his last club at 29

Bernie Vince did start wearing 28 for the Crows

We still may have a delisting or 2 yet though

Would be fitting that Vince gets 12 and Tyson gets 3

I strongly disagree

If numbers meant nothing then why would Grimes wear 31 , Watts wear 4 , Trengove 9 and so on

You might not think so but the Club obviously does

17 at the Tigers

3 at the Dogs

14 at the Swans

5 at the Cats

4 at the Saints

23 at the Hawks

Club history is really important

Vince has to get 12.

Even if, for no other reason, it sends a message to Sylvia ' ... Thanks for the memories and the 10 years of investment. You have been replaced'.

We know you really miss him but you need to face the fact he has gone for ever!

Look I know that club history is important, but the numbers issue is a low level of magnitude on the scale of things.

And IF guys are to be given "marque" numbers they need to earn them first. Hell, didn't the Cockatoo-Galah twins get gifted 30 and 31 or something ridiculous like that (and ended up playing like 4 games between them)? Wheatley at 31 was a bloody hard worker but certainly not a "neo-Barassi", and nor is JG at least for now. JW ain't no TGNWS.

Do the numbers really matter ? except for the legends of our club. I don't care if players wear #75 as long as they get the football and we win games.

Bernie Vince #12, Dom Tyson #3, Viv Michie #23, take #33 off Dom Barry and give him #36 (give it too the next big indigenous player), give #28 to Daniel Cross, Pick 9 (hopefully Nathan Freeman or Dom Sheed) #18.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
