Hi Demonlanders,

I've just moved recently from Toowoomba QLD to Melbourne. I have been listening to triple m which has been great. I came across another station SEN.....what is it with the guy called Greg Denham or what ever his name is. What is his problem with the demons? He has a dig every opportunity he gets. Is this standard of him. It really [censored] me off after a while and I had to turn it off. I love my demons so much that I would knock this guy out if I got the chance........please tell me he is not always like that. That's my Friday rant. By the way I love melbourne and can't wait for my membership to arrive. Can't wait to watch the demons in 2014 and beyond.....carn the demons

Hi Srjennings

Think of the biggest [censored] you have ever met, heard of or watched on youtube then times that by 1000 and you have a quarter of Greg Denham.

Just change to another station if he's on.

welcome srjennings, & I feel like saying you've timed it well to come on down, but I think I'll reserve that comment just at the moment.

welcome aboard mate.

Could only get a job with the Australian, and as a side kick to Bartlett.

An absolute tool.

I happy that you picked up on his inadequacies so quick.

Reassuring to know that Denham grates just as much on fresh ears as on those who've put up with his drivel for years.

In any town there are some places to avoid... one of those in Melbourne is 'anywhere you can hear Denham'.

Anyway, welcome to Melbourne Srjennings, make sure you introduce yourself at training sometime. :)

The bloke is a total [censored]!

He must sponsor KB's segment cos they are always advertising his hotel. He runs the Dees down at every opportunity and is so far up KB's arse you can't tell where KB starts and he finishes.

Do yourself a favour switch off!

I started a thread on him a while ago. You can look it up he is described pretty accurately by the posters.

His only positive in the last few years for the MFC was Roos.

I guess that's why after his latest garbage I heard on wednesday no one mentioned it on here because no one listens to him. He was enjoying teaming up with a geee-long supporter ("they only support no 13 and come on number 12 at Melbourne you know) and after this guy said he must get a lot of flack from Melbourne supporters he said yeah but they're only Melbourne supporters. What a waste of space he is.

Most amusing post I've read for a while. Good work.

On a totally unrelated topic, that film Red Dog was on TV tonight. Worst film I've seen since Herbie Rides Again.

Well to all the Denham haters I say this.

I despised him for years but all of a sudden mid 2013 he was proved correct.

Our drafting was terrible and our management from the chairman done was worse.

He was proved correct on 90% of his comments.

He will never be top of my pops but the guy is not as stupid as many of you believe.

He had the MFC dead correct.

i sadly agree. he calls us insipid and we are.

We deserve everything he says until we win and start winning on and off the field.

We have started to win somewhat off the field, now we need to work out the "on field" part, and that wont happen until Round 1 2014.

Spot on.

The way to shut up Denham and a few others is winning.

IN AFL winning cures all problems.

It is put up or shut up time for the MFC.

7 losing seasons is far to many we may not have a winning season in 2014 but 5 -6 would be good

and 12 in 2015 will pin their ears back.

In some ways you are correct, but he also delights in tormenting MFC supporters with his abuse.

He's not just talking the truth and people find it unpalatable; he's a consistent sh*t stirrer of the highest degree.

Yes, his comments are unfavorable to us, but he is accurate in his assessment. I personally don't like him or anyone else at The Australian. They all seem to denegrate the lowere clubs and then jump on the bandwagon later when they improve1 Have a look at if you can what they (and he) said about PA last year!

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
