I don't think Vince has the explosive power of Sylvia - Unfortunately Col only produced this about twice a season. Further, I suspect Vince has more brainpower.

All up. Not a bad swap.

I liked Col, and I'll miss him, but I have potplants in my back yard that have more brainpower than him.

Potentially we will look to do deals in this last week moving those later 2 picks forward or getting another one in the top 50ish by trading out players who haven't been getting a kick but might hold a little interest from other clubs (ie, Blease, Strauss, Tapscott).

Any word from anyone on Frawley. Better to trade now than lose for nothing. Surely worth a top 10 pick for sure. Oh course it depends who is interested but pick 40 + Frawley for top 10 pick + very decent player (pref a backline player to fill the void)

On a only-very-loosely-related note, I wonder where the OP (D26) has gone? He's spent the last 6 months being close to the site's most prolific poster, but has had no account activity at all since October 3. That includes logins, 'lurking' etc. Bizarre.

Maybe he's Bernie Vince...

You must know something the rest of us don't.

This is a wind up surely! Email your suggestion to Roosy and let me know what he says. :)

JF won't leave! A great day for the Dees otherwise. Mostly unexpected!

Agreed with your sarcasm. Didnt put much thought into it. Had a long enough day at work than to have to start putting serious thought to this. The principle is if Frawley wont sign, trade him while we can

Just back from my son's soccer match, straight to Demonland and it is confirmed - we got Bernie Vince. Well done MFC.

Vince, Vichie and Tyson - a very good trio to introduce into out list.

Wrapped.

Edit: that was supposed to read rapt.

We as Demons need to hold our nerve a liitle and put a liitle trust in this new administration to sort out the best outcome for the club.I understand why many get jittery considering the suffering we have been put through for more years than seems fair.

We have litlle trust in our administration because we have been burnt so many times in the past. What we need here is a litttle faith and maybe we sit back and enjoy the ride for a while.

From my perspective, the new management has hardly put a foot wrong in the short time they have been together and they are still strengthening. For mine Peter Jackson and co have been outstanding!

94 & 112 are also still in play if the club want to upgrade Clisby or make a trade like the Rodan trade last year.

I agree and I have also been impressed with Josh Mahoney. Since he has been in this role he hasnt done a lot wrong. Maybe he should have been in our administration department years ago instead of being our forward coach.

Couldn't have said better myself. I am not convinced with Tyson and Vince however I agree I should give them time and have faith in the new direction of the club

Hawks CEO Stewart Fox: "We believe it is inequitable that compensation is linked to ladder position". I'm sorry, but what a sickening human being. The Hawks front office has been a disgrace in regards to pushing the disequalisation agenda since becoming good again after a drought of irrelevance from 1992-2006. Yes, they've come out of free agency with the worst compensation scenarios the past two years, but if they can't see the bigger picture of the necessity of compensation being linked to ladder position to help lessen the effect of higher-finishing clubs picking the wings off cellar-dwellers year after year, then they're either dumb or incredibly selfish with scant regard for the future good of the competition. And I doubt they got where they are by being dumb.

Anyway, with that off my chest, it's a good and fair result for the MFC!

Oh Dear!

Had the salary cap been in existence in the 80"s, its highly likely this mob would have lived in Bagdad which is pretty much where they lived and breathed in the John Kennedy era in the 60's. I remember them as a complete rabble who Laurie Mithen terrified. Take out Tassie, trading his own grandson, raping poorer clubs ( refer Lake, Gibson,Hale) throw in the Neville Bruns incident.,Dippa, Dermie and co. Nice try, but respect is earned.

Vini (I came - ok, it should be Veni, but close enough), Vici (I conquered) - all we need now is someone name Vidi (I saw). Roos can be Caesar.

I seem to remember him saying something about being a physio, so don't think it's exam time for him.

His on field leadership, work rate and commitment will prove highly beneficial especially on the younger players. This is exactly the type of player we need going forward in guiding our younger talent. I've always thought of the sporting industry and sporting clubs much like a work place - if you get a new job where the people who have been there the longest muck around, not take their job seriously and for granted it rubs off on you and you end up becoming lazy and wrapped up in an emotionally detrimental environment. However if you get a job in a place where its firm but fair, everyone puts in, there are stand out leaders, direction and commitment you are more likely to put in a harder work ethic yourself with the people you are surrounded by.

This is exactly what the MFC was not. With the party guys of the like of Slyvia out the door being replaced with on field leaders like Dawes, Vince and potentially Cross - you watch how our culture, work rate and professionalism will change for the better.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
