Good on him if he gets the job.

The way he was treated in the end was an absolute disgrace! compared to Neelds it just shows that our club was run by potato's back then..

I see his hair has grown back since he left the Dees!

Seriously when he was at the Dees I couldn't stand to listen to him dribble on, when he speaks its like he is selling me a car.

U notice the BIG difference in the way Roos speaks, he sells hope without selling.

Do we really know how good or bad Bails was? In 2010 we looked to be headed in the right direction and he was coaching with next to no resources and had clowns doing the recruiting. The wheels fell off the next year and since we have come to understand the full extent of the dysfunctionalty of those above him. He took the fall with grace, the others have all since been given the kybosch. I suspect that he is competent enough to fill the role at EFC.

is the Chris Heffernan mentioned as Essendons football director the spud that played for us? WTF!

Also an Essendon premiership player with a successful career in the AFL...

this is OK for a year but who keeps Hird away from the backseats in the Coaches box on matchdays?

I believe Hird is not allowed contact with any club staff or players etc, or allowed to be at the club. This may be hard to police to since extent and I'm not sure what the AFLs stance on social contact is!

To be honest I'd think it would be to hard to try and be involved in coaching without being allowed around the place. Any involvement would just be a pain for everyone. Might be a lot of emails from [email protected] to [email protected] next year.

I was surprised he was allowed to be at Essendon games or that he would be allowed to work in footy ie commentating.

Like the email addresses but its not up to the AFL if he works in the media. Any such action by the AFL would invoke a restraint of trade case. And we know how much the AFL likes going to Court.

You're probably right, but as punishment for 'bringing the game into disrepute' surely they could ban him from attending any AFL matches as well as banning him from coaching? (Same as they can ban fans who behave inappropriately) Could work in the media, but not attend games to comment etc.

always looked a million dollars and played like 20 cents

Heffernan was an okay player, didn't have an issue with him

Lacked a sense of urgency when he played with us. Not sure he was really interested at all, going through the motions I thought and gee we could have used a real goer in those years when we were actually competitive.

If Roos wins only 6-7 games in the next 2 seasons, I'd imagine he'll drive you nuts too.

Back to Bailey.....

The article quotes:

"AFL.com.au understands the club has discussed Bailey as an option to fill the role of suspended senior coach James Hird.

It is unclear if Bailey, an assistant coach at Adelaide, will interview for the role now that the club's formal process to appoint a replacement has begun. "

He's not even an applicant. Pure dream world stuff. Not worthy of a topic on this forum. FFS

Who the hell would want to take that job when they have to make way in 12 months for that pathetic loser James Hird

Alhough i reckon theres about a 5% chance Hird ever comes back to the AFL in any way

Pretty sure Hird will never coach again. ASADA and further complications will end his career.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
