HOWE snubbed for mark of the year.

Three finalists for mark of the year are Nik Nat against North, Schultz against us and Jamie Elliot against Port. Since when is a chest mark better than out in front with the dukes.

That Schultz mark deserves to win... an absolute screamer.

Those three marks are all good. I'd have had Howe in there instead of Naitanui, but the context of Naitanui's mark adds to its greatness. Schulz's the best for mine.

As for the goals, wow, all three of those goals are amazing. I'd go with Franklin's for it being more of a team thing, but Walker's run (with great support from Garlett) and Ablett's freakishness are great too.

I'm having trouble watching then in my phone, was it round 3 against the eagles he ran back with the flight? Surely there are 3 better marks than Nik Nats. Even his round 23 mark against the doggies.

Just found the link, yep round 3 against WCE.

I'd have it in the top 3 just because he was running back and taken out Elliots

I stand corrected, Nik Nat wasn't a chest mark but still thought Howe's was better. With regards to the three finalists I'm actually going the other way. Elliot's for me, small bloke up high, nice sit, reasonable hang time, takes it out in front. Edited by Al's Demons

Elliot's mark will be a deserving winner.

Who really cares anyway... he isn't getting robbed as badly as Walker did in 2011. One of the best marks of all time and they couldn't even name it the mark of the year because Krakouer was a 'feel good story'.

Shultz for me, although I think it was over the line! NikNats was put in the A) because of the context and B) the AFL is in love with him. But should definitely go to the best mark full stop.

Abletts go is nothing short of incredible, it gets my vote.

Howey's mark against West Coast where he was running back with the flight should've at least made the final cut ahead of Elliott's.

Of those three, definitely Schultz's against us. He got up very, very high.

To me it is a no contest Howes mark against West Coast is just amazing. The degree of difficulty is a 9.8. Have we ever seen anyone running with the flight of the ball jump as high over a 6.3 ft player to take a screamer. I can't remember one like tha but yes Elliot's is spectacular but a 6.8. Shultz mark is spectacular but really look at the camera angles it was so far over the line it was a joke.

But it is all about how spectacular it looks not about degree of difficulty.

Thanks

MOTY

Schultz

Elliott

Nik nat

GOTY

Ablett

Walker

Buddy

Howes efforts were good but those 3 marks were very good.

As for GOTY, I thought there were other options than Buddy's. Walker and Ablett were outstanding.

nic nats mark was good but no top 3. Elliots mark was good, but i dont think he got up as high as the camera work makes it look. Schulz was very good and was prob better than howes marks this year. I do feel like he has been robbed though, gets one nearly every week, these guys take one or two for the season and pip him. bit rough, awel, next year...

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
