Jurrah would bring out the crowd.... I know of at least 10 people that havent been going to footy, that would if Jurrah was there.... Surely the AFL would allow us to pre-list him, on to our rookie list.... They allow Collingwood to do this with Marty Clark.... Why not Jurrah for us? Its a small step for them.. But a big boost in crowd numbers for us....

There would be a list a mile long of things he would need to tick off. Attitude towards a greater work ethic is one, probably one of the smaller ones.

Like many the head says no but the heart says yes. Everyone deserves a second chance at happiness and to make it in the world, he would have to leave everything behind from the NT not just physically but emotionally. About a month ago I said to my dad that Liam appeared to be in a free fall for which he wouldn't recover from, perhaps football could be his salvation as it was for Krakouer.

I would advocate a rookie list spot, where he pretty much had to complete a full season at Casey. But he would have to show he's willing to work his ass off for it amongst other things.

I would love it but due diligence needs to be done first. If he comes back and falls over, then we might do more harm than good.

How can you guarantee Col won't be at the Cas on Thus nights til 4am? You can't but we take it as part of the process. It is free market and people can do what they like they are not surfs of the club.

Pretty simplistic comment to make. I and most others have have said that there would be a myriad of conditions he would have to meet so no I can't guarantee he won't hop on a plane, but we wouldn't jump into this blind. The new coach would interview him and do a risk/reward assessment and if there's more reward than risk then why not? It's more than likely not to happen, but my heart does skip a best at the thought of him in red and blue again.

This post sums it up well for me. We've already shown a lot of faith in and support for Liam. He'd have to do an amazing amount of work to get another shot. Would like to see it, but truly doubt it will. Hope I'm wrong.

Rudeboy was a great poster, and even after Liam had left he was happy to answer PM's about Liam's welfare, and passed on well-wishes from posters!

I doubt he could give any insight into a potential AFL return, but an update on Liam's health and well being would be great!

Cant believe anyone would even mention Casey!! He is the most uniquely talented player ever to wear the red and blue.

A combination of Melbourne player mismanagement and community/private turmoil (in that order) combined to see us lose a rare talent. If we have chance to get him back, which I dont think we really do, then for god's sake - let him play 4 quarters of AFL football once a week.

Bizarre hyperbole in the first paragraph and complete rubbish in the 2nd paragraph about player mismanagement.

The past McLardy/Stynes mismanaged a lot of critical areas in the MFC but the Club's support of the player and home community of Jurrah from start to when he walked out on the Club was a high point and should be congratulated.

While I understand the issues that Jurrah had, his treatment of the Club was appalling after all it had done for him.

And if he did get another chance he is soo far off AFL standard fitness, strength and endurance (even at his best) that he would be no certainty to make it back.

High maintenance and a proven risk he needs at least 2 good years in a lower league with no off field issues to be even considered.

I agree with this. I have personal knowledge of how much support he had last time. I don't think it could have been stronger. It would take a lot for him to prove he is worth the effort. I would like to think he has it in him to prove his worth, but I'm very, very skeptical.

It could be if we get him for our 7th Round pick or as a rookie as I suspect your hypothetical is a bit tongue-in-cheek suggesting he would be No. 1 pick. If we listed him again, we could alternate him in the team with Howe and in that way at least ewe can get highlights on the evening news each week.

At his best Liam was brilliant to watch and the fact we stole him from the Pies made him almost perfect. He could do things on the field that seperated him from even other indigenous players and Stevie J.

If he reformed his past ways every team would take him. If not he is a distraction that our club can't afford. Classic risk versus reward
