Looking more likely than ever, not sure how I feel about it though. I guess the only reason I'm not certain of him is purely because he hasn't tasted Grand Final victory yet as a coach. Has been so close but never finished the job. Third time lucky....

Hopefully this can have a positive spin - he may want it more.

I would have had Choco ahead of Eade but if this is actually true, he'll be a good get. We'll add a strong coaching panel to support him as well I'd think.

Would still prefer choco. But if he can turn the clubs fortunes around who am i to judge

I think Eade is good for getting us from where we are to a contender.

I'm perfectly comfortable with him doing that, then making way for a flag-capable coach at a later stage, rather than, like the doggies, riding along with Eade until the chance is gone.

We've gotta take those first steps, then we reassess.

Experienced Coach who knows how to build a team, great at developing and getting the best out of players, would love to see what he would be able to get out of blokes like

Trengove

Watts

Strauss

Tapscott

Blease

if he can get these guys playing to their Ability we will be a much better team for it.

I also prefer Choco Williams but won't knock back Eade after our lst 5-6 years.

Neil Craig is a better option than Eade, thought he coached really well Saturday night against Gold Coast just didn't have the cattle to finish the job for him.

Source is adamant

If true, let's hope he can 'stand and deliver!'

(for those old enough to remember)

Guys it was a rumour posted on a stupid facebook page. Dont get sucked into it yet. Rocket is only just getting interviewed this week. Still alot of process to undergo.

If true, I like it. Rocket has his own ideas about the game but isn't an ideologue. Exactly what we need after the last 2 years.

It says lots about our year that we cannot get Melbourne spelt correctly on a thread title.

Actually, "Melbore" isn't that far off the mark.

Is this really Karl Stefanovic?

A couple of mates who used to play under Eade, said to me recently that he would be a perfect coach for us.

He has loads of experience, listening to guys like Jeans and Kennedy, he also set up Sydney before Roos got there, did well to get the young Dogs to the finals, and now at Collingwood.

My sources are high profile ex Dogs who say he is fantastic at teaching kids and getting the best out of a team.

Id be happy if true.

If true then the odds of Daniel Cross and possibly Adam Cooney coming across as free agents would be decent you'd think!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
