' get around him' used a lot by James Brayshaw after a player kicks a goal his teammates run in to congratulate him, rub the head & pat the backside. In this case kicking the goal is replaced by the signing of a contract. Players and fans alike should get around him at ES this Saturday and let him know how much we appreciate him.

good to see big maxy commit to the club for a further 2 years. hoepfully he remains injury free and continues to build on the solid form he has shown this year.

DA Watts is possible but forget Frawley.

Why would he commit at this stage?

He has a year to run, over the next year he will get to see who is the new President, Coach and if we look like winning more than a few games.

He would be mad IMO to re sign now.

Quite simply, because he's a leader at the club and there's this concept called 'leadership'.

It's about the one thing that this club lacks in spades - heart.

I tend to agree, it would send a huge message of faith to the entire list and be a huge boost, and if the club offers him a huge extension and he knocks it back right away we will have a better idea where we stand.

2 years? Why do we bother with such short contracts.

Will he be worth $1 million by then? Possibly...why not? If he stays healthy, anything can happen.

I think as much as that his injuries would be too much of a concern for the club to offer him a longer deal

In a difficult year he's been a positive. Plenty more for him to work on but I'm glad to see he's committed to the club.
