If we take savage I would expect the Franklin compo and Hawks first rounder with him.

Savage has already been cut by the Dawks. They knew they weren't going to get any value from him.

Would you say the same about Frawley now?

That's not a fair comparison at all. Frawley is a gun, the best defender we've had in a long, long time and one of the best full backs in the league.

Colin was an underachiever, though a solid contributor the last couple of years. No one will be saying we should have traded Frawley because he will be signing an extension in the next year, no doubt.

Not to my knowledge he hasn't, both parties have come together and are going to help facilitate a trade for him, pretty certain he is still contracted in 2014, but wants to move on for more opportunity.

I hope to god you are right django, one thing I am sure about is when he becomes a FA he will be the most sort after commodity FA period has ever experienced- a battle hardened gun full back.

Pity we didn't trade Sylvia when we had a chance..

over the last 8 Yrs,,,, theres been many who could have helped us to manage our list. many were chased by the pies, carton, etc

the problem was we all thought we were on the right track!

well guess what, tough love its teaching me & you & all of us.

we all know now the culture has to change to change the developmental outcomes of our recruits.

Has fallen out with Mick.

I'm thinking Roosy can turn him around and make him the player he can be.

Better option than Heath Shaw.

Heath Shaw is a much better footballer than Yarran.

Wouldn't mind Duigan at all, he seemed to be out of favour this season.

Someone from the Blues I'd love would be Zach Touhy. Really tough in the contests and plays really well as a rebounding defender.

He is another NQR and we have enough of them.

I think Neeld was run over by the reality bus

He was changing one of its tyres at the time (left the handbrake off).

I'd have a talk to Frawley if I was Roos and ask him what his long term plans were. If Chip want's to go next year then why not trade him this year and what better way to find out than to ask him.

Still be in our best 22

To even think about getting on a par with a lot of the teams above us, shouldn't we be setting the cutoff point of "in our best 10"?

Mick Duigan (sorry if I've misspelt his name).

Nick... maybe so but a better NQR than the ones we have. We should always be looking to improve the list, even if it's with players that are only a little better than what we have. He did kick four goals in one of the finals.

Agree but there is no honesty anymore in footy.

There used to be some real advantage having a first or second pick in the PSD, it seems like this is far less beneficial now. Is there anyone we could tempt through the PSD if Mumford goes PSD to GWS?

Posted

Anyone hearing that Sam Reid is on his way to Freo????

Maybe our pick 2 could facilitate a trade between freo and Sydney...with a couple of players coming our way?

Haven't heard that yet but it makes sense with Sydney getting Buddy and Freo in need of a key forward. If our pick 2 was involved to help facilitate a trade like that I'd be expecting something pretty bloody decent in return.

Maybe we could get Col back, with another player of course?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
