He wasn't on the list that I commented on.

...but if you start a new list I don't think you would need to get past this one before giving them pick 2 and making a run for it to get the papers registered before they realise the mistake.

My money would be on pick 2 heading to the GCS for Swallow.

He fits the criteria Mahoney was referring to.

A former #1 pick who may not have set the world on fire, but has 3-4 years of fast-tracked development at the Suns. Ready to go.

I think the Suns would probably agree to it too.

As a half back flanker!

The other scenarios is that Aish plays a blinder in the Sanfl GF and we just hope GWS don't pick him up. I still feel there may be something very special about this kid.

I wonder if the three mid tier midfielders that I was told we are chasing are Shiel and Savage as well as Levi Greenwood? No idea, just heard about three are wanted.

Could Aish really slot into the midfield? My understanding is he isn't built like a midfielder. I just don't get the endless stocking up on defenders and forwards when there is a desert in between them that G Healy described as the worst midfield he has ever seen (as in from any club, ever)...

I haven't heard anything about Shuey but Im liking what im reading here.

Also reported on several facebook pages that Col is over in WA talking either Freo or West Coast - youd assume as a top up for Freo for another flag tilt due to his age? Free agency is a [censored] for the lower clubs I reckon...

Reading between the lines (Mahoney interview) it seems like we may be entertaining giving up our first and second round picks for two players. Either from one team or two different teams. Plus possibly some later picks in return.

If we were to give up our first two picks to one team for two players which of these scenarios would suit us more?

Gold Coast - Prestia and Swallow + swaps of later picks.

(Prestia just re signed before the Roos appointment but was rumoured to have been wanting to return to Melbourne earlier in the season)

Or

West Coast - Gaff and Shuey + swaps of later picks

Or simply straight swaps with picks

(I know it is of little consequence these days but all of Prestia, Gaff and Shuey followed the Dees as kids.)

You'd like to believe there is at least one idealist out there playing AFL. Maybe im being naïve but surely the ultimate dream would be to bring your childhood team some success?

One day supporters will realise that who a player supported as a child means zero once they've been on another clubs list. Absolutely zero. Not even 1%. Zilch.

Pining for Prestia because he loved Melbourne as a kid is as worthwhile as pining for the girl you had on your wall when you were 15.

EDIT: I had Samantha Fox. Turned lesbian a number of years back - not that there's anything wrong with that.

GWS may want pick 2 for Scharenberg ( Boyd at #1). They have plenty of mids. Dylan Shiel for pick 2.

GWS really want experienced quality players. I think they would dearly love to trade pick 1 and if they got pick 2 would like to trade that as well. Now they don't have Buddy, they desperately need more experience. Hence Mummy.

That is why I said it is of little consequence.

I had S.Fox too. Her being a lesbian would have been of little consequence too incidentally. :)

Luke Shuey and a player for Pick 2 is what I'm hearing.

Source is going to give us a buzz in about 10mins and fill me in with all that he knows. Will post here straight away.

I'd take that in a heartbeat if that eventuates. I'd like WCE to throw in Matt Rosa aswell. Shuey barracked for us as a kid. Wants to comeback to Melbourne.

Get excited people. The kid is a gun.

Sylvia gone aswell.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
