The Trade/Draft Rumour Mill

no way Roos will trade out Jeremy Howe

Why would you give away the best mark in the game? Roos will find a way to utilize his strengths and he will be an absolute weapon for us

totally agree. ROOS WILL love Howe. Can't see him being traded. A Blease or a Tappscott on the other hand...

I can see Blease being put up for trade, but no point with Tapscott. Equally, Blease is about the only line-breaker we have, he just consistently proves he has no tank. It's Roos' call whether he can turn that around with some solid application.

Please, Strauss wouldn't ave any currency. He's 5 years into the system and can't get a game for one of the worst teams in the competition.

Sadly that's the case with most of our players. We'd be lucky to get anything for Blease and Tapscott would have no value at all.

I agree, it's a very sad fact that many of our draft picks that were relatively high just haven't developed into anything of value. For me I think there's more value in keeping them and trying to make them reach their full potential with us. Is Tapscott contracted? If not I would say he'll get delisted and possibly picked up in the PSD.

Blease definitely stays, he has enough going for him that Roos would want him.

Delist our spuds

Keep the young talent until Roos has given them a crack.

Anyone thinking of trading tapscott, Howe or blease are dimwits of the highest order. Prenderghastly like.

Keep our talent, get 6 additional midfielders, and watch us make finals.

Howe, blease & tapscott will often be on our highlight reel.

Strauss is my trade option. He has real ability but we NEED midfielders ... ballwiners. Strauss would have currency!!!

I'm expecting big things of Strauss next year. Reckon Roos will will work his magic here and turn him into a consistent HB/Wingman.

I'd like to see Blease on one wing and Watts on the other.

We have salary cap room, a good number of high draft pick numbers, Jesse Hogan about to come in, and basically untried talent of Barry, Evans, Clisby. So apart from trading in for 1 experienced mid - Cross - and 1 young gun - Swallow - we should recruit/delist rather than trade on a mass scale. This process has started with the 5 delistings and 2 retirements in recent days.

Blease, Tapscott, Strauss and Gawn are easily AFL standard players who have been retarded in their development by pathetic development and poor coaching. Getting rid of them now with an experienced and proven coach would be madness.

He's missing most of the pre-season I'm pretty sure with the shoulder surgery he had at the end of the year. Poor bloke, seems to get injured just as he get's a little confidence and momentum. Play him on the wing I think. Was a midfielder as a junior and has spent his whole time here being developed as a back man which he has improved at. We need midfielders, maybe we've got one?

Tapscott is contracted for one more year I think.

He won't miss preseason because of his shoulder surgery.

Are you implying that he will miss it for other reasons, perhaps that he won't be on our list?

Or are you just saying that he wil lbe right to go day 1 of preseason?

The silly season hasn't even started yet and I'm already jumping at shadows! Damn you MFC, 7 years of tripe has worn me down!

haha, relax Billy. I mean that he'll be good to go for the bulk of preseason, won't miss the fitness work, and will get the ball work when it matters. The rest I have NFI about.

I agree, who would of have thought that you can draft a player and actually play them in their natural position.

Nah lets just ruin them and trade them off in 5 years time for nothing.

You sure about that? I've heard he will be restricted for most of if not all the pre-season? That's great news if he will be good to go..

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
