The 4 from 4 club - be proud

Who's made it to all 4 games so far.

This thread isn't about bagging people who haven't, we've all got reasons we can't attend every game. But for those who have well done. We deserved the last quarter.

Who sat through the debacle that was Port and followed it up with the shambles that was the Essendon game.

The Essendon game I had neutral supporters wearing Richmond jumpers hanging it on all our players.

The West Coast game I had a lady getting excited down stairs every time Le Cras touched the ball, it killed me.

Even this game seeing neutral supporters and smart ass teenage brats in their brand new first time worn GWS jumpers was killing me.

We have to stay strong. The pain will continue for most of this year but for 30 minutes yesterday and the time that followed we were free!

living in the otways does make it hard to get to all games , the wife is so rude she wont milk cows all weekend ,but the right to brag after a win is there for all. made the trip into town to pick up paper and talk about my team and my weekend away was thrilling to say the least. thanks for going to all games and keeping the flag flying for us 7 game people.dont worry about the smallminded people they cant hurt us and cant take away our passion. remember 2/3 after this week

Well done to you all. After a 50th birthday party that ended sometime after 6am i had to bail from Yesterday and listen to MMM.

I did turn it off in disgust during the 3rd Quarter but it was back on for the avalanche.

I was happy for MN. He must take that running attitude to the Gabba.

We can win.

I missed the Essendon game only because I had had surgery two days early, was in plaster and under doctors instruction not to attend I plan on attending the away games against GWS, Adelaide and the Suns. Its a good excuse for a weekend away.

And who wants to admit to being at the game on Sunday and leaving at three-quarter time?

(Serves you right).

Well, after a fashion I did. I don't live in Oz, but religiously get up at ungodly hours to watch the Dees (5 a.m. on Sunday) on streaming. At 3/4 time, I just felt I needed to be in a calm place, and went out and walked the dog, only checking the score later. I've since watched the last quarter twice if that makes up for it ...

I went to the first three but couldn't get there Sunday.

Instead I watched the game from the local over a few pots and parma.

At three quarter time I was just about to leave when the girl behind the bar brought me out another drink. I said "Thanks but I am fine, I am actually out of dosh for the day" to which her response was, "You looked like you're about to cry at three quarter time, so we (the bar staff) thought we would shout you one."

Anyway's, didn't jag her number but we did jag a win.

I'll take that

I propose you stay at the pub for remaining games haha. Clearly its the good luck charm! Look at the positives by the end of the season you are bound to have had a few more drinks on the house and you might just get that number!

Let's hope it's us that are getting excited every time Le Cras touches the ball next year... assuming we make a play for him.

i've been to all 4 so far. i've stuck in till the end in each of the floggings, as much as it pained me to. Won't be going to many for the rest of the year though as i only have a 5 game country membership, and it will cost too much to go down for many more games.

Young dee, on your profile you have Paul Johnson listed as one of your favourite players.... I mean really?

I'm in the 4 from 4, but I only made it to the 2nd half of the West coast game, in fact to be accurate, 20mins into the 3rd quarter I got there having sprinted from work, and yes I knew the score. I take the word supporter very literally and had a great time this weekend, (mainly in the 4th quarter although I thought the 1st was fun too), I'll be watching on tv next week and will be back at the G for the Carlton game, so when the tide turns I can say I was there when we were terrible.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
