Time to go Mark Neeld

Grand New Flag

Recommended Posts

I was once of the opinion to get rid of neeld, now I want the afl to come to the club and sort us out and go from there. I don't think a new coach would make much difference, r Collingwood good cos buckley is great, I don't think so.

I do not want to get rid of Neeld at this stage, we are into a rebuild and have been for 12 months, changing the coach will do nothing between now and the end of the season. I say he has till round 6.

His game plan - well what is it how would we know we are getting killed at the clearances and can't get our hands on the ball so it's hard to see what the game plan is when you have so little of the ball.

The team is absolutley devoid of all confidence and don't want the ball, they are absolutley terrified of truning it over. Whatever way he does it this week Neeld needs to bring in runners and rotate them through the middle and get the interchange rotations up to a record amount, Bail, Viney, Trenners, Sylvia, Jones x 2, Howe, Tapscott & Jetta all need to play and rotate through the middle constantly and Mckenzie if fit goes to shut down Scott Selwood, Bail can run with Shuey.

I would like to see the side taking the game on a fair bit and create some run, it may catch the Eagles off guard during the first quarter and just do enough to get the boys confidence up early. But for now we need to stick fat.

If anyone needs to go it is in admin not with the footy department at this stage

are you a member and if so please direct your anger at the trading of rivers to geelong and picking up rodan, this is to be brought up at committee level asap

I may have been a supporter/ member of this club a little longer (in fact 50 Years) and I assure you it WAS once a GREAT Club, which is partly the reason I am saddened to see how it has slowly virtually self destructed.

Rivers left as a free agent, he was not traded.

Rivers was an unrestricted free agent - he could go wherever he wanted/was wanted.

Should have gone the draft instead of this moneyball approach

Our obsession with the draft is what got us into this mess.

Another pitiful and uninspiring display by the Demons on Saturday.

The supporters have already walked out and the sponsors are reading the fine print in their contracts.

Do this club a favour Neeld and hand in your resignation.

You have already done enough damage.

It's the boards decision. If they don't have the courage or nous to sack neeld, we should overthrow them.

I agree totally with this statement

Chaning coaches will not get rid of all our problems

I still have faith Neeld can get the changes neseccary to build a winning club........... Can he coach our current crop - jury is still out

Just to touch a little on my last statement about Neeld

1st Half was pretty solid footy against WCE - we needed a bit more compusre and experience - For mine Neeld gets through to the players

2nd half was extremely poor - player fatigue or just switched competely off?? Inensity at the contest dropped off 100% after half time. (I dont think that is the coaches fault)

Rivers walked not traded - secondly he wanted to taste some success before he left the game.

Are we any differen't to other teams of our experience - look at GWS playing against the saints who were not in form. They had very few winners. Our team is too inexperienced -

A pretty reliable source from the inner sanctums of the MFC said that, "if we lose this sunday to GWS, Neeld WILL be sacked."

This same source last year informed me mid season that Stefan Martin had a falling out with Neeld and that he WOULD be traded come seasons end..

Obviously a handful of us already think he will suffer the same fate, but this is still a big call.

If Neeld was to survive a loss to GWS, he wouldnt survive past the end of the season.

loosing to GWS is unacceptable when accompanied with 2012 and the first 3 rounds

This week? Next week? Next month? Next year? I'm more concerned about how we (MFC) extract ourselves from the very deep hole we have created.

I guess the first step is to stop digging, but what next? It would be fantastic for the club (not so good for Neeld) if sacking the coach guaranteed a turn around but I can't see that happening without a bigger plan around the future

Truly, the most fundamental concern to me is that we have gone backwards, on all fronts, under MN - something I wouldn't have thought possible.

We were totally uncompetitive last year - not even any honourable losses if there is such a thing - and now we have, essentially, hit rock bottom 3 games into a new season.

Everyone wants him to succeed, but this is a results driven business and we have been sloshing around the bottom of the pond for 6 or 7 years now.

Stating the obvious, current performance is a fail. Here's hoping we can turn it around this weekend.

Theres alot pretty reliable sources at the club, how much turmoil do they want to put the supporters through, people shouldnt be spreading [censored] like that, we had reliable sources spreading there hate through the tanking investigation,at least give him to the end of the season, they gave him 3yrs, the least they can do is give him2yrs,if Mclardy sacks Neeld before the end of the season he has to step down.Melbourne by 60 points.

The first part of your quote is exactly what people were saying about Port before Hinkley eventually got the job - the right Coach can make improvements straight away. Look at the difference in the Crows from 2011 to 2012. Even in the most difficult cases (like the Bulldogs right now) it can take 12 months to see improvement, but they are clearly going in the right direction.

Even Justin Westhoff said on SEN today that the new structures Hinkley has put in place has given himself and the team confidence in themselves.

Neeld must be supported for the three years of his contract.

If the board form the belief that they got is appointment wrong 18 months ago, the first thing they should do (prior to sacking Neeld) is to resign their positions on the board.

They bought into the plan Neeld presented, his approach, and him as a person. If, after 25 games, they are convinced they got it wrong, then the indictment is on them more then on Neeld and they should go, let a new Board decide on Neeld, and make changes if they deem it necessary.

Justin Westoff wouldn't be saying that if Mathew Primus hadn't perservered with him when supporters etc were baying for his blood, hindsight ah a wonderful thing

Let's storm the ramparts and tear down the flag. Let's behead the bastards who've ruined our club! I'm with you Tonatopia - bring on the revolution.

Oh, hang on, just explain how this will help. Are you nominating for president?

On second thoughts, count me out. I'll just try the common sense approach and have a little patience

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
