Guys I know its only volleyball but he has a fair old leap on him!!

http://youtu.be/i8oyR7CgA0o

Nice volleyball video but what number was he (as all Kiwis look the same to me)?

Good thing that we got him young as he will have plenty of time to catch up with Nathan Jones and Mitch Clark in the tatts department. Might even see some facial tattoos?

Looks like he travelled to Perth a couple of years ago to represent NZ against all our state clubs in the Junior Volleyball Championships.

I'm interested in seeing how good Sellar was playing volleyball He toured Thailand with a Junior National team

FMD. Every kiwi athlete I've ever heard of has no neck, weighs off the scale and gave up a promising boxing career. Yet we pick a skinny kid.

I work with a couple of the Kiwi AFL players who have moved to Melbourne. They say its the skinnny Kiwi kids with running ability who are the ones more likely to have a go at AFL. Partly due to running ability being more important relatively in AFL but also having to play under age rugger against more developed Islander kids is not much fun if you are a skinny kid.

I must've missed the memo when Taylor joined the club! It was something that was always going to happen but I didn't hear any announcement!

On topic, best of luck to the young kiwi!

This is it IMO.

got ourselves a Kiwi

Kiwis can't fly, no wonder he's a midfielder & not a forward.

Lets hope he keeps his beak & claws clipped, & stays away from possum skins. Marngrook.

But in&unders, could be handy.

JM. I think that was his name. I met him briefly when he first arrived. Very tall and solid. A great physique for an AFL footballer.

He qualifies for this year's ND, all reports are Hawthorn are following through on him, meant to be a real talent.

Just curious. Since the commencement of the formal international rookie program, does anyone know how many have been selected and of that group, have any ever made it onto an AFL list?

Of course, perhaps that's how Tadgh Kenneally got his start. He went OK.

Don't know if Mike Pyke was. The basketballer that the Roos took was. Heatherly at Hawthorn will almost certainly make it onto an AFL list at the end of this year as he becomes draft-eligible.

Hawthorn bought a Kiwi boy over 2 years ago who had a basketball background. He was going to Caulfield Grammar. Not sure if he is still here.

We are not bringing him over however. He is staying in Auckland for his education so I suspect that he will not develop much until we get get him accross to Melbourne.

If we list him as an international rookie, does he have to go into the ND or do we get first option?

Yes we have first option. You can have upto 3 Category B (International & Development ) Rookiies. They can be kept on the list for 3 years. After that they need to be upgraded to the Senior Primary list or be delisted.

We have four Cat A Rookies in Magner, Couch, Stark and Clisby.

I am impressed with his potential from watching the DeeTV interview with him (link below)

If he keeps improving based on what he has absorbed in a short time, then I feel that we may have unearthed a good colt!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
