Dayle Garlett would have been a good pick at pick 12. What the hell is going on.

He is a [censored] obviously.

Clearly there is an issue with Gartlett wouldn't you say?

Even the eagles and Fremantle have shown no interest

Two grownups with our last two picks. Jones is 25 and Terlich 23 (or will be by the time the season starts). I'd say the strategy there is fairly obvious.

so we will not use pick 3 in PSD...

Probably most interesting thing to come out of the night. That we rate guys like Jones and Terlich above the potentials there says something.

Wouldn't we have been better off to pass on the last one and use the #3 pick. That way we could have taken our time to sort through everything that is available??

SO HAPPY

TOUMPAS,VINEY,HOGAN = CHECK MATE

This may be a dumb question. But I thought we had pick 88. Didnt we get it back off west coast.

We traded it for Rodan and our list was full by then anyway.

So it's over now.

People who know stuff: any surprises? Anyone overlooked, or slid a long way?

Hahah, I don't really know much, but I'll give it a crack.

Dayle Garlett was obviously seen as too big a risk by clubs.

Sam Colquhoun was a little suprising that he didn't get picked up.

Jason Pongracic was another player that some people mentioned as likely to be picked up.

SEN mentioned that clubs in this day and age just can't afford going for some of these players that are seen as a risk to their profile (sponsorship etc) where a 5-10 years ago these players would just have been picked on their game, not the whole package (if that makes sense).

Because we knew who we wanted in advance and the player we wanted was still there?

Personally I liked the idea of big body Wines. Plus I thought his connection to the Viney's was a bonus. However, recent reading plus an interview where I saw the humility and commonsense of Toumpas changed my mind. I wish both these boys long and injury free careers - so long as Jimmy's is better!

Wasn't Colquhoun supposed to be late 1st early 2nd round?

I'm amazed he didn't get picked up!

Garlett must have attitude problems to not get picked up. He was expected to be 1st or 2nd round like Colquhoun too wasn't he?

Quick summary, please??

I'll give you a quick summary ...

Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
