Col Sylvia in 2013

Probably in 3 years the same pundits will be fawning over his potential and forecasting his imminent arrival as football champion of the highest order.

Yawn

Same ol same ol.

I await...with no expectations.

Always have this sense of deja vu.....followed by annoyance .

When was the last time he did a full pre-season, and was ready round 1? Been a while ... if ever. Even now he's training away from the main group.

Perhaps (probably) no fault of his own, but can't help him get to where he needs to be.

Stop making pathetic excuses for Col. He's had 8 years and teased us with his talent. Never made it inside the top 5 in the B& F. No second efforts. Can't get his head right. I've given up waiting for him to explode.

I hope it happens but I am not wasting any energy on it.

I think that Col definitely has the potential to explode in 2013.

But he is in need of a full preseason and injury free run up until round 1.

He needs everything to be full and perfect.

He could seriously be the focal point of our team in 2013.. if he further breaks out.

i liken him to Pat Dangerfield before the season this year.

Every year is the next year that he is going to explode. Although Patty is younger than him.

Im hopeful he does a Pat Dangerfield

8 years, 8 unfulfilled seasons. I admire your positivity.

Really?

Personally I think this is the most outrageous comment on this thread so far.

I would however love to be proven wrong.

I do believe Colin at his best for 22 matches. A huge season.

He could pick up votes, alot of votes.

Colin at his best is a complete game breaker and changer whic would see him pickup votes

A few less bicep curls and a few more laps to build up his engine and learn how to force himself outside his comfort zone, wouldn't go astray this preseason.

Has all the moves, we all know it, just needs to want to be more than a talented bloke, making a good living playing AFL footy and learn to compete ruthlessly for more than cheap kicks and the odd running goal from fifty out.

Grimseyisgod' can you tell me the year that he has done this in more than 3 games in a year?

For the life of me I cannot remember the year.

This is the problem with Col. WE know he has the talent to be in the AFL elite, the COACHES know he has the talent to be in the AFL elite, but COL is too lazy to be in the AFL elite.

I(along with my fellow demonlanders) have waited for 8 years for Col to deliver. I am over it. 2013 is the year for Col Sylvia otherwise he is finished as an AFL footballer. I love the guy, even have a number 12 on my back, when he is on, we play MUCH better. But you cant do that for 3 games per year and go missing the other 19!

He is like the hottest girl at school, you keep falling for her, hoping she takes you to the dance but always manages to break your heart.

Col Sylvia knows exactly where he is at, but which bit of he needs a completely uninterrupted pre season doesn't everybody get......he has great explosive power but if you can't maintain your fitness it loses it's edge.....I am sure Col like everybody else is desperate to get through preseason and the NAB Cup and be fully fit and firing for Rd 1......after what we have seen this post season, if he doesn't he won't be here next year.......simple really

Get off his his back guys! I have no qualms about Silvia's contribution next year. Why don't you focus on Sellars (former top-ten draft pick) and what we can expect from him?

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda

It's Game Day and after 2 losses on the trot the Dees must win against the Saints today at the MCG to keep in touch with the Top 4. A loss today will see them drop out of the Top 8 for the first time since 2020.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.
