Latest murmurings of a crazy time

Something doesn't seem right to me with this pick 13 business.

How sure are you that it is part of the Hogan trade? It doesn't make sense to me why GC pay less for MD1.

I'm getting a sick feeling that if pick 13 is gone, GC have it. And we have a player that doesn't want to be on our list.

Someone tell me it can't be possible.

And who is a FIGJAM.

Something must have changed for WCE to be interested in any member of the Morton family. Pretty sure the Morton family burnt that bridge to the ground.

Hope we keep Evans.

Maybe thats the Key Utah, the bridge is now the 'Gap'. As maybe, the gap to Sydney has shown.

Lift & Seperate, looks the goodes.

Heard this morning;

Adelaide - Pick 13

Sydney - tippett

Pies - Sam Reid

Demons - Dawes

Came through a friend who was talking to Sam Kekovich, according to him we are pushing extremely hard for Dawes

Pick 13 is apparently going to be used for about 4 different trades now according to the media...

A tad convoluted. We'd only need trade 13 for Dawes, everyone else can do what they like, doesn't directly affect us so why so involved.

Might be the eventual result, but not our requirement

Lets just trade 13 for Tippett or Reid...

Spot on why would we trade a top pick and get the worst deal?

I didnt get it either why do we need to help Adelaide and Sydney out to strength their lists when we could deal directly with Collingwood, The only thing I could think of his Collingwood didnt want pick 13 for Dawes, they would prefer a ready made replacement.

I am with you Born to Run, I didnt like it either when I heard it, I think 13 is paying well over for Dawes.

If the repeatedly reported trade of 3 & 13 for Hogan & 20 goes through, I'd say Dawes for 20 would be a comfortable result. Bear in mind we also have the Rivers compo pick which could be about late 20s.

Martin for Ray would be a loss for us IMO, would take a late-ish pick on top of it.

Kidding yourselves if anyone thinks a Rivers (alone) pick is a first rounder. Even with Beamer going our nett result is one (1) loss as we gained Byrnes.

I'd expect a mid to late 2nd rounder at Best.

If the 20 pick comes our way then the Pies might go for it. Their wallet's a bit light on trading picks, the poor dears ;)

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress.
