I wonder what he's done to pi55 the people off at North so much that they desperately want him gone..

It's all hearsay; I wouldn't put much credence in that?

I'm sure due dilligence and character checks will be thoroughly carried out by Neeld that he won't be bringing any bad attitude or is a person that riles other players.

Doesn't sound great, but that is why we can get him cheap or pass.

I think it's more down to the fact there are three players the same as him, ahead of him. It's the perfect Swans type, Moneyball, scenario. People probably would have been asking the same question about half the Swans picks, including Josh Kennedy, Ben McGlynn, Mattner, Richards, it goes on and on. They all worked out pretty well although they couldn't get a game where they were. Rest easy.

I heard Wallace talking 4-5 rounders ect that like pick 70 odd or higher

I like the sound of that! giving up virtually nothing and getting a very capable player :) I'd say about pick 63 would be more likely though rather than 70+

Offer our last pick, hopefully they'll take it.

Next week should see a couple more deals get done including this one.

Now that we have the compo picks, we can also expect a decent pick from Brisbane for Stef Martin, which we could then exchange for a Farren Ray or Greg Broughton.

Then I reckon we will be done , and go Into the draft picking up some good young talent including Wines, and a couple of mature aged roughies.

I'm confused. I saw this bloke play a couple of times. He can take a strong grab and was an accurate kick - at least from short range. Very strong and looked a footballer. I'd take him - no worries.

He'll add that little bit extra muscle and will need muscle to man up on. Whoever plays fourth forward this year could have some real opportunities.

Pick 63 should be enough to get the deal done I would have thought.

I'd be willing to part with Pick 49 to get the deal done in exchange for Pedersen and Pick 58, but would resist all the way up till the last day of trade in the hope they'd blink first.

Can't squeez in ahead of Tarrant, Petrie, Hansen and (less so) Goldstein.

I think Pedersen will be wearing red and blue within the next 3 days

Could be really handy given the lack of opportunities he has had at North

It's interesting that Richmond managed to offload Angus Graham who played only one game this year to the Crows for an exchange of draft picks giving up 40 for 50. Ruckmen are a slightly more sought after commodity but I doubt the criteria for a trade is going to be much difference. Pick 49 straight out should do it.

I'd be happy with that deal. Unless we could trade Petterd or Bate for him, and retain pick 49.

The footage indicates he's mobile, is not a bad kick (better than Rivers or Martin) and has quick hands.

Let's hope he can also play football.

Angus is a big spud.

Or maybe Angus is a cow.

You beat me to it. I was going to say that I have my Angus, medium rare, right beside my spud, baked, with a little Dijon on the side. Edited by monoccular

Perchance would that be the same whining Wallace who over what, 5 years, set the Toiges back about a decade with his brilliant recruiting choices. Now that scares me.

Surely we're not stupid enough to spend the final week of the trading period throwing away assets for this guy when our midfield is so poor and we've already got a pick that is more than enough to pay. If they don't want 49 then move on. Just insane.

Agree wholeheartedly. While Pedersen would be handy, I don't see him as worthy of paying well overs for him if it affects our capacity to also build up our midfield depth. As things stand, our midfield is ranked among the poorest in the competition so if we are to engage in another trade involving someone like Stefan Martin going out of the club then we need a handy midfielder with pace and running ability.

Agree. Tell them 49 monday or deal off and we move on and find a another mid. They will grab it with both hands. Unbelievable, we lose Rivers and Moloney, the top 2 in 2011 B & F for a bloke that is 26 and played 16 games and only 2 this year.

Yes. Pedersen looks ok, but if he's unwanted at Norf then only offer them 49. He's contracted, so we take that worry off their hands.

We need run and carry desperately. While I'm not all that thrilled with F Ray, he fits a need well. Quick, experienced and comes from a sucessful club. I'd rather trade Martin for Ray or the like than trade Martin's trade pick for Pedometer.

Eagles have asked for 44 for former high draft pick and 21 year old Koby Stevens. Dogs offering 51. We are being told 49 is not enough for a 26 year old who has played only 16 games and 2 this year. He is another Sellar type. If the Age is correct we are looking to give a 2nd rounder for him. What the hell is going on? Do we know how to negotiate? We paid overs for Hogan according to the Martin deal and clearly overs for Dawes.

We need mids. I would approach Stevens and if we can convince him to come, offer the 49 for him or someone like Bennell and then the next pick for Pedersen. If North don't like it stiff. They are reputedly desperate to get rid of him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
