Liam's trial next March

Cannot see him on our list next season. Too flighty at the moment and too big a risk.

Bloody awful timing: may spell the death knoll, unless we can get some Ramanaskas type rookie deal or provisional listing of some sort from the AFL.

Why? I would have thought the timing was almost perfect. It means he can do a full pre-season and then, assuming he gets off with a fine or even better, with all charges dropped, he may not miss a game... he would even be available for most pre-season comp games (unless we made the final).

I hope you are right, but it might be hard doing a serious tough pre-season with that looming over you.

Ahh the power of positive thinking Hardtack

I think that the family issues are now way in front of playing AFL.

I have serious doubts we will see him in a red and blue jumper again.

Maybe, but the glass half full (or should that be "fool") side of me says that a tough pre-season might be a blessing as it could help take his mind off such matters.

Agree Sue I might be very mistaken but it appears to me the family issues now far out weigh AFL

You may be right OD, but I suppose there is also the possibility that the family will be pushing him to continue his AFL career as it gives some hope and pride back to his community; maybe that's what they need in the circumstances.

I hope you are right but do they look that far ahead?

Fairly confident our ways of viewing this situation does not apply to this community.

This is way too complex for me hardtack.

No reason why Liam can't use this preseason to prove a point. That's my opinion, but Tim Harrington may view things differently, as could Liam.

Liam will have to decide in lead up to the draft period if he is able to commit to a full pre-season.

The time being "given" to Liam to spend time with his family, is for him to have the space with his family to decide this, and presumably deal with some of the non-legal issues that have made it hard for him to fully focus on footy at the moment. Many players have trained well and played with legal cases looming, it's the other stuff.

The off field football stuff he is dealing with is broader than just his family. It involves his community.

He walked out on the Club for the rest of this year. Its ambitious to think a tough pre season is what he needs to address this. Red and blue goggles working overtime.

Who knows when his community issues will be resolved? I doubt it will be before the court case where the warring factions will face the judge.

At best he is a rookie but hopefully the Club knows the better options.

Family has always come ahead of his football for Liam which is common among most indigenous footballers; the fact is he is not able to return home where his family is for legal reasons. The club have given him time off to visit his family in Adelaide while his body heals up after a terrible run of injuries.

The club knows that the evidence given by several witnesses during his court hearing conflict with one another. As this is the case the charges against Liam are flimsy at best.

There is no full proof evidence to show him being delisted by us in the near future. The club knows it is in a good position with him otherwise they would have torn up his contract when initial allegations were made. The truth is he's had a horror year on the field and off it, all we can hope for is that by late March next year it is all behind him and his pre-season has been dominant.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
