  1. Family has always come ahead of his football for Liam which is common among most indigenous footballers; the fact is he is not able to return home where his family is for legal reasons. The club have given him time off to visit his family in Adelaide while his body heals up after a terrible run of injuries. The club knows that the evidence given by several witnesses during his court hearing conflict with one another. As this is the case the charges against Liam are flimsy at best. There is no full proof evidence to show him being delisted by us in the near future. The club knows it is in a good position with him otherwise they would have torn up his contract when initial allegations were made. The truth is he's had a horror year on the field and off it, all we can hope for is that by late March next year it is all behind him and his pre-season has been dominant.
  2. The Saints (Green and Yellow) have won the most premierships and have the biggest following going around in Darwin. Across the oval from them are the Wanderers (Blue and Yellow) and they are the less successful brother of the Saints. The Buffs are ( Light Blue and Dark Blue) are a nothing team really, only real plus is Wheals, plus their sports bar is a slum, no one wants that. The Tahs (White and Red) have the best club rooms and a great ground down near the shore front to get the much needed fresh breeze in the wet season. The Magpies (Black and White of course) are from Palmeston, enough said, although the Davey's did play there. Tiwi Bombers (Black and Red) are the most entertaining bunch to watch just because of their flare. So take your pick really, i lived there for 12 years and didn't really follow anyone, just great entertainment. Get Foxtel/Austar and just watch the Dees with the Air-Conditioner on, best way to spend your weekend, GO DEES!
  3. Dragons charge to TAC Cup victory Read the bottom half of the article and try not to smile :D
  4. Players want a bigger sum of money after the massive tv rights deal, that's fair enough. If i was playing a game such as AFL for a living against the big bodies involved in the game i would be wanting a 'superannuation' scheme involved. We've all read the stories about players who cannot work later in life due to their playing days. It's about player security in the future, why wouldn't you want something to fall back on if your playing days are numbered. Better than getting spat out of the AFL machine and left behind.
  5. I can understand why he left, who wouldn't take that money? Still makes me feel a little sick and hollow though http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/tom-scully-to-join-gws-20110912-1k4t0.html
  6. Bigger bodies for our mids will allow us to make space and give the ball carrier time to use it. At the moment we are working with a mid group who are low on experience and size. Moloney, jones and sylvia need scully, trenners, gysberts and macca to gain some size for our clearances and effective kicks to grow. Working against judd and others showed how much work has to be done for our midfield to click into action. Another pre-season in the gym should show some vast improvements in a hugely tallented group of players. Hopefully they'll all have their roles and play them to perfection in the near future, go dees!
  7. Memberships in the microwave and a few scarves in the post will make the footy club go into melt down on monday i'm sure. Send a more supportive message and stop being so dramatic
  8. It is such courage that makes our great club unique and our hearts beat red and blue with pride. GO DEES!!
