Missed the last goal because the ABC cut their telecast. Who kicked it please?

Sheahan from inside the defensive 50, longest goal in VFL history. Was incredible!

Great game by Sheehan today. Hopefully Russian pulls up well.

Missed the first half today but have taped it so can so can only go on what I've seen to date.

The main one has to be Jack Fitzpatrick. Every week I see him he seems to show something new that I haven't seen before. Today, it was his ability in a tight situation to kick the ball around his body.

We've seen the surprising ability to accelerate from a contest before (most notably down at Kardinia Park earlier) but he did it again today beautifully in that third quarter. I actually clapped loudly on my couch when he did that burning opponents off.

Would love to see him get a game next week on the expanses of Subiaco. I, have been wanting to see him in the side for the last 10 weeks but apart from that 1 in 1 out earlier he hasn't been given a chance.

Some coach's philosophy is to play guys before they are ready

and persist with them, believing every game they play early is worth ten in experience (or something similar) whereas it seems Neeld & co are believers in getting good consistency in the VFL and really earning  your spot

(unless you 're a Jetta).

As for the others, Sheahan had a very good last quarter pushing up high off the backline. Moloney tried to bullock and influence the contest without a lot of success, and Magner also doing similar but his disposal was appalling.

Of the Casey listed, it was fantastic to see Kyle Matthews out there influencing the forward line. His courageousness and x-factor will be a real plus for the finals. David Collins would have to be just about the most improved player down at Casey this year contributed well again. Smith took a number of impressively strong marks yet again. I feel he will be a chance to be drafted by someone later this year. Bit surprised Matt Fieldsend was omitted as he is a very good player at this level.

Bring on the finals!

Casey's 'Rolls Royce' mid-field was pretty ordinary today. Jamar, Gysberts, Moloney, Magner and Bate should have creamed it in the middle but sadly were jst OK.

If they can't excel at this level it explains a lot....

Sydney push the button mate. I feel sorry for the girls at reception right now at Rippers, they will be copping it bad.

Fitz was very impressive today. I've been wanting to see him get another game for a while now. Surely he's done enough to earn a spot playing as FF given how depleted our forward stocks are?

The commentators were talking the Gys up quite a lot today. He was pretty decent in some horrible conditions and got a couple of goals.

I also think Bate may have done enough to earn another contract. His mark on Clark was special (and Clark flinching was golden).

Fitzpatrick looks very raw - but with a lot of talent.

I think he'll get better each year.

I don't think he is up to AFL atm.

anyone know geelong and port's scores?

Ballarat by a point over port. I think geelong lost as well so Casey finished on top.

Due to Geelong and Port Melbourne getting beaten today the Scorpions finish a game clear on top. Well done Scorps!!! Bring on the VFL finals!!!

Well a perfect set of results for the minor Premiership! Do we still at Port Melb oval regardless? Be a shame to not get an actual home ground advantage at Casey Fields

Jeez poor form from ABC, if your televising a sporting event like VFL surely your basic obligation is to show the end of the bloody game!

Well done the scorpions for finishing on top, I hope we don't pull our players out for surgery and leave then high and dry.

Good to hear Fitzy having a good day, good chance to get a game next week with Green finishing tomorrow.

I liked Fitzpatrick's game. As the commentators mentioned, not a day for someone his size. Then again, most his size don't move like he does.

Would probably get a gig next week, but would probably rather play finals for Casey?

Also like Gysberts' game. He cops a whack around here because most are fed up with string bean nice boys, he has more talent than the beans around him, needs size and stamina obviously, I hold some hope.

Sheehan was good.

Davis was ok.

Great Godfrey impression today by Magner. Yuck!

Great Godfrey impression today be Magner. Yuck.

When push comes to shove, that's the kind of footballer Magner is really. Like Godfrey - tough, works hard, face of an unloved trailer (I think that might've been an H-ism from many years ago), plenty of G&D, but not a top level footballer.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
