Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Hahahaha!! I can see it mate. But i kid you not more fights and almost fights happened at windy hill. In 1990 when we won out there i feared for my life leaving. Still sang the song though!!

both vi park and windy hill could be fearsome

My mate injured his leg and refused to go on crutches to WH as he insisted the "fans" would kick his crutches out

We went every week to every match plus some

Being bought up at the MCG and VFL Park any game that I went to where I had to stand I felt as though I was slumming it.

Vic Park provided the eye real openers for a kid tho'.

They were truely feral.

Windy Hill was certainly the most dangerous ground I went to in the old days.

Even at the old Western Oval I parked a relatively new car in the back streets and it was still there after the game!

But for me, Hawthorn suppporters are the worst wherever they are - their arrogance defies belief - and worse still, they appear to have more Range Rovers than Melbourne supporters could ever afford, and yet we are usually credited with that ownership statistic (and going to the snow in winter)!

Agree. I recall as a kid feeling sick of intimidation just by how many bomber supporters were behaving badly (drunken gutter language) around me on the outer at Windy Hill. I think that is image and feeling that has stayed with me; how my hatred of the Bombers remains.

Bulldogs supporters to me are royalty compared to Bomber and Hawk supporters.

Totally agree on the Range Rover comparison.

Exactly. The Collingwood "rivalry" has reduced in relevance to the point where I reckon it's almost embarrassing. A one way rivalry isn't a rivalry.

Went to Waverley with my brother on law (Essendon supporter) and my son many years ago to see them play Carlton; well there was a group of Scum supporters behind me who were just talking and having a beer, that is until the game started. Wow! The language after that was unbelievable I didn't think you could swear 5 times in a sentence containing 6 words before.

Went to VP with my other brother in law (Collingwood supporter) and sat in the members with him; well the first score of the game was a goal to us I jumped up and cheered, then I realised I was the only one cheering so I sat down pretty quickly. We won that day, the Rocca brothers were both on the pine at one stage and A Jaco kicked a swag which upset the locals no end and I couldn't say a word.

The capitulation Essendon are experiencing really does hurt their smug arrogant supporters.

I would agree too that Windy Hill was the worst ground to visit and could be frightening. The Bombers supporters on the outer thought they were Ron Andrews clones and behaved like him. Saw a lot of fights and unprovoked violence by their supporters.

Well bombers fans are certainly getting sterilised now, playing home games at Docklands.

Like going to the dentist's.

frpm BummerBlitz............sound familiar?

We need to cut 10-12 players and go backwards for a few years. we are now seeing the result of poor recruiting and development for 7 years. Our midfield is the worst in the league. I don't care who ran the recruiting , Dodoro, Keane Sheedy whoever it was they need to go. You cant defend this mediocrity. Our development was just as poor. If you are 22/23 or older on our list you won't play in our next premiership. Long long long way off it

Definitely Moorabin for me. I still hate St Kilda.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
