Watts to Trenners

Carrot Top

Recommended Posts

I work Sundays so I could only hear all but the last bit of the game on the radio. Everyone seemed mighty impressed with the Watts to Trengove play so I was wondering if there is any video of it floating around so I could have a look. Ta.

It wasn't Watts only great long pass, his kick down the wing to Aaron (who dropped It, and then recovered) was sweet as well..

Tells me I can't use it because I need to be in Australia to see it. Odd. I always thought NSW was in Australia but there you go.

Anyway I've logged a complaint with them and I'll see what happens.

NSW is Australia... or so the Australian cricket selectors would have you believe.

Try refreshing the tab or using a different browser. That has worked for me in the past...

Got it. Thanks.

Nice stuff, eh? I look forward to much more of that in the future. Y'know if Watts continues along in this vein I wouldn't be fussed if I never saw him go forward again. Getting the ball out to of the backline to the right option on a regular basis will probably help us more than 2 or 3 goals a week could.

Even watching on tv it's clear the special comments that Tim Watson adds are obviously some of the worst lines ever delivered on free to air. But it was obvious to anyone at the game that the crowd went nuts because 1. Jack Watts' great play (close)2. Scully's big error (distant)3. Trengove's mark. [not a comment on Trenners, just how it was]

Watts gathered the ball right infront of our wing and sped down the wing and spotted up trenners with an amazing pass. The whole wing went nuts and showed their appreciation it really was a good moment and Watts could tell how pleased the fans were

Its on this page the video but it doesnt show the initial gather

His two left footers later in the game were sheer brilliance

Welcome to the future Captain Jack (Shirley has been retired I hope)

Yeah, it was great to see Watts looking so poised at times and showing us some great skills. Certainly thinking we need to forget about him becoming some monster CHF like a Cloke or Brown and that maybe he'll end up being more like a Goddard-type with his skills and reading-the-play abilities. We've now got Clark to be the monster CHF. In 2013 anyway.

Anyone else think Trenners would struggle to make the seniors if Boak and Viney were on our current list based on his form?

With 2 - 3 new mids most likely to join the team besides Moloney I cant see who else could be moved to Casey to make room.

Hope his form picks up soon. Jones and Mckenzie would hold there spots.

It's a big if, but even if we managed to get Boak and Viney in the team for 2013, most clubs these days are rotating a lot of players through the midfield (8-10). Not an issue IMO

In short, no.

And there's no guarantee that an introduction of 2-3 new mids drafted would play majority of games either.

If we were to introduce Viney and Boak, the players that would be under most pressure to retain their spots would be Bail and (as much as I wish it wasn't so) Tapscott.

Oucher is close to the money regarding midfield rotations, but I think it's more like 12-14 players. I'm pretty sure Schwab mentioned this on Twitter a season or two ago.

It has been asked elsewhere but I will ask again

"what does Bail bring to the team"?

I have yet to see him play a game that would justify his inclusion the following week.

But the FD seem impressed e.g. they give him a game on Sunday after being injured for 4 weeks.

However the the alternative was probably Bennell

Oh well yes play him next saturday

Not one ounce of disagreement here Old Dee. The one I'm disappointed about is Tapscott, thought he was our version of Chapman, but that said, the geelong faithful were quite impatient with Chappy in his early years.

I'd just like to see Tapscott & Bail put in half a dozen games in succession, without getting injured. That will give us a better idea of what future they have.

Come to think of it, that also applies to Gysberts ... Strauss ... Martin ... Jetta ...

Funny, but unfortunately not surprising, that yet another thread turns into speculation over the future of certain players at the club.

What is Bail's role Akum?

I am not being smart just interested in where you see him playing.

Also interested in the same for Tapscott, not sure where he fits as well.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
