  1. The point everyone (especially the media) seems to miss with the Grundy debate (and apologies if covered already but I can't read 122 pages of comments) and this may not be how it was envisaged when he was recruited but... Grundy's presence on our list whether it be to fill in when Max was injured or to share rucking duties with Max in games has allowed Max to get to round 20 in really good shape. He's fresh, not banged up like he was this time last year. If that allows Max to ruck solo for the rest of the season and have a dominant finals series then the investment in Grundy (who may not get another game in the period) has been worth every cent!
  2. How many small forwards are kicking 40 goals a year in the AFL? I would happily pick up one of these easily available rookies, just let us know who they are and we'll go get them.
  3. Have heard unconfirmed rumour of 6-8 weeks from an apparent close source. Hope its true I'd take that.
  4. Culture is an outcome of a whole lot of small things that add up. You can't see it or touch it but when you have a good culture good things happen. This year we have not done quite as many of the things that fed the culture last year. Hence the outcome. If we go back to doing all those little things we did a year earlier then goodness will naturally follow.
  5. I think this a great post and I think you make a lot of good points. I hope they go back to Settler's Run and have the same conversation they had two years ago and remember what made them so successful on 2021. Also, I believe you need a 10% adjustment in game plan and personnel each season to keep things fresh or risk staying the same while others move past you. Would love to see at least 4 changes to our starting line up in 2023 as well a new assistant coach from outside the club. No need for a major overhaul - just a reset on things that made us successful along with a few fresh, enthusiastic faces.
  6. Standards won us a flag. We can't afford to let them slip.
  7. It's the one that hurts the most and impacts his team mates, no other option
  8. Absolutely had to suspend him. Destroys culture when you don't.
  9. 100% agree, really good crowd under the circumstances I thought it would be less
  10. I think if it's lineball there is some logic in giving Weed an extended run at it given he is by far the youngest of the 3 and we need him to be ready when the other 2 reach the end of their careers. Provided, of course, that he provides consistent output.
  11. Let's play Demonland's most unwatchable / unlistenable "journalists" (using 3 word analysis): 1. Dwayne Russell - dead set knobhead 2. James Brayshaw - loves James Brayshaw 3. Dermott Brereton - butchers English language 4. Gerard Healy - voice of doom 5. Ross Lyon - mentions personal capital 6. David King - football isn't science 7. Kane Cornes - talks absolute [censored] 8. Caro - swallowed bitter lemon 9. Matthew Lloyd - bring back Whelan 10. Dwayne Russell - rates another mention
  12. We'd be crazy to let him go unless we have a viable replacement. While he hasn't developed as much and as quickly as people would have liked he is still AFL capable and on his day can be pretty handy. And 24 year old KPFs don't grow on trees. What if one of our tall forwards goes down? Look at Josh Bruce yesterday, it can happen and probably will. Weid can walk in and play a key forward role as well as help out in the ruck.
