6. Bartram, for playing a blinder on his 100th game

5. Jones, for his sensational, almost "elite" first half.

4. Rivers, for being a stalwart in defence.

3. Magner, for going in hard time after time after time

2. McKenzie, for practically shutting down Goddard and tackling (and smothering) like a madman

1. Tom McDonald, who started off too conscious of Riewoldt, but ended up almost beating him. Not only did he play well on Roo, but he knew when to run off him and get his own ball, and when to help out his fellow defenders.

6.Jones - first half, just brilliant. second pretty good.

5.Bartram - not sure how anyone can not have Bartram in their votes. His endeavour was just superb, and his skills better than usual.

4.McKenzie - welcome back, son. Showed improvement last week, then huge step up tonight.

3.Magner - same old Magner, great pickup.

2.Bail - another, like McKenzie, who has started to show some form last week

1.Bate - absolutely deserves his spot in the side at the moment

6. Jones - There when needed

5. Rivers - Reliable and useful

4. Moloney - Just kept winning it for us, and actually handballed well a coupla times!

3. Magner - Heart, so much heart

2. Bartram - Skills matched his effort tonight

1. Bate - Becoming really reliable

I left him out because I thought he did not do very much in the first half. His 3rd and 4th quarters were pretty good and nearly managed to squeeze into the votes for mine.

Jamar? I thought he was instrumental.

Rivers continues great form also.

not much love for jamar who killed them and starting hitting the ball wide and not at his feet

Jamar was definitely my no 7.

Good sign a few to pick from.

6- McKenzie (for shutting down St Kilda's best and most important player)

5- Jones (midfield engine)

4- Grimes (for lifting when needed)

3- Bail (for his 1%ers and his pace)

2- Bate (for his willingness to attack the contest)

1- Tommy Mac (for taking on the biggest test of his 6 game career and smashing it!)

Honorable mentions to Rivers, Garland, Jamar and Magner would I think would come back on even if he snapped his leg in half!

And a very very honorable mention to Clint Bartram, for leaving his guts on the field every week and for executing the best kick of his career after 100 games.

I want everyone to stop for a moment and appreciate the fact that we're having trouble with a top 6 because there were too many good players. How good is that? The past few weeks we've all been struggling to find enough positives to pick six. This time it's a struggle to cut some great performances and come up with only the 6 best. If this isn't a good sign I don't know what is.

6. N. Jones - His first half was awesome. Fell off a bit in the second, but clearly BOG for us.

5. T. McDonald - Shut down on one of the best mobile forwards in the game was great. Gave up an early goal when he was feeling Nick's star powerand another at the end that was bad luck as much as anything, but otherwise owned him.

4. J. McKenzie - Demolition job on Goddard. Enough said

3. J. Rivers - Held the backline together. He was solid all day, won his 1-1s and provided rebound.

2. Bartram - Hard and tough, disposal was far better than we've come to expect and he capped it with a brilliant goal in traffic.

1. Jamar - 55 hitouts? How the hell do you get numbers like that?

Apologies to Davey, Grimes, Dunn, Magner, Bate and Bail who all had really good games. As I said, it's great to have too many players to pick from.

Cannot believe no one has Jamar. To me he was almost BOG. He was all over Stanley and McEvoy and gave our mids first use of the ball at every opportunity.

6 - McKenzie

5 - McDonald

4 - Jamar

3 - Jones

2 - Rivers

1 - Bail

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
