Mitch Clark

Currently watching FOX FOOTY classic game of Melbourne Brisbane Round 3 2011.

One Mitch Clark is playing CHF start of the 4th quarter with 23 touches 10 marks 9 inside 50 and 4 or 5 scoring assists. Honestly I was under somewhat of an impression he was far better in the ruck but he has done literally everything I hope for this year. Breaking packs, bringing the ball to the ground and even more so being a presence.

Watching this really makes me feel like this yea could be fun!!

Great post-makes me feel much better!

I have heard a lot of people say he is more suited to CHF than FF but we will wait and see. Certainly gives us hope. Something we've been missing since Neitz/Schwarz.

I was thinking the same thing. One of the commentators made mention of how he was playing the true ruck-rover role. Great seeing him so agile.

Let's hope the supply to him this year is above average.

i loved how physical he was. he was just a [censored] all night to who ever came past him, whether it was a bump or a whack you could go past him without him getting your attention, matty warnock didnt look to impressed with him! havent had a mongrel in our team for a long. i for one absolutely love it!!!!!

He is an imposing bloke who is not going to shirk it .Any fullback will hate lining up on him because he wont give up the front position .His kicking action looks natural and fluid to me( although of a fairly short run ). We look like we are going to be really hard to stop on the big grounds .Him ,Martin and Jamar will be pretty hard to man up on . Bring it on!

Just as long as he doesn't start doing hand-stands and strutting around with chest out!

I was watching Mitch at the intraclub as well as the weekend V GC and BL and he gave it to everyone who was on him.

He even chased down Chip along CHF and whacked him hard too after his kick!

He gets in every players ear within coowee of him..

This guy is a huge presence for us!

I was wrapped when i found out we were going for him as last year as I too watched a few Lions games and this guy does everything I want in a player!

Got Mongrel..splits packs..kicks goals...will be worth every cent...touch wood!

Thanks for picking him up Dees! I'm sure he will be a massive asset!

Forwards.....not bad really..

Watts: Skill & height

Clark: height & mongrel

Howe: leap & good goal sense

Pettard: pace & X factor on occasion

Green: Experience and skill

Jurrah:Leap and Goal sense

Davey:freak when fit

Looks good to me!!!

Needs to add another string to his bow if he is going to be a regular. A qualtiy "on occasion" is not acceptable for me.

Clark is goooooooooood. In 12 months when each of Clark, Watts, Martin and LJ know each others game better...wowwweee!

I know it is nab cup but i was looking forward to seeing mitch clark in melbourne for the first time but much rather him be cherry ripe for round one how much do they charge to get into the nab cup cause i seen that i cant use my $500 membership which is a shocking move by the AFL it should be free to all members but the afl dont care its all about the money.

The best thing about his mongrel is that it will give confidence to other blokes around him.

Howe, Petterd and Watts the most

With him smashing packs and getting agro, they will hopefully wanna chase and smash opponents too.

Then enter Frawley, Magner and Moloney..............

We went and got Clark because we needed a full foward, but perhapes he will be better in the ruck? They say his best footy is in the ruck. We can go another foward next year but I would love to try Clark in the ruck swaping with Martin out of foward line

I would argue we have more rucks than we know what to do with,

Mitch kicked 5 in a rubbish MFC game with little opportunity.

He didnt mark any but i think that is more because he was double teamed all day, and the delivery doesnt give him a chance when we play like we are....do doubt he can ruck, but until we have another Key forward it is robbing paul to pay peter

Neeld I reckon this week against the tiggers needs to isolate Clark 1 out. he has the strength and height to win a one on one contest. The trouble is he always has to compete against 2 . Against brisbane our foward line looked to crowded and everyone was jumping at the same time. Sit him in the foward line 1 out and he should do well.

This is true but what good are the rucks we have if they are no good, Fitzy and Gawn show promise but need more time, idealy Jamar would pull his finger out but with this new attitude of I dont care who you are if you dont perform your out (and I like it) then Clark is the only one left to play ruck

We are getting smashed out of the center and its no good having Clark wait in the goal square when we have stuff all inside 50's, get Clark on the ball, get the ball inside 50 and cross the goal scoring bridge when we get there.

But I do understand, that throws up an even bigger challenge, who replaces Clark at full foward? The only option I can think off is a quick medium foward setup, Petterd, Dunn, Davey, Bate, Sylvia, Jurrah, Green etc

Carlton dont have any big classic style fowards but they make it work.

IMO if our on ballers can get good delivery they can be alot better, thinking back to when Jamar and moloney were the number 1 clearence duo in the comp (dont quote me) but how can that just disappear? something has gone wrong, at least try Clark for a game or 2 and if things look better statistically out of the center (which is where we are getting destroyed) I think it will be a step in the right direction.

I would play Martin one out like when Jamar was injured before i throw Clark in.

I think Martin is great ruck, wins 50% of contests but atleast adds that extra man around the ball, his basketballing background means he has good speed and an ability to move through traffic ala Nik nat to a lesser degree

It is tempting to throw him back into the ruck but rucks are easier to find than forwards and he showed he has an eye for goal.

Just let him have this time - while we are crap - to find his feet.

Jamar and Martin are a very good combo.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
