Revisiting the logo..

I hate to admit it, but all the goings on has me looking at the new logo in a new light. It suddenly feels very...corporate. Lifeless. Its obvious attempt to be purposeful and meaningful results in it being very bland.

I'd be in favour of going back to simplicity once we dig oursevles out of this hole.

Love the logo, and as said before, concerns over it are the least of our issues.

Let's not allow the events of the past week be the catalyst to slam every little thing about the club!

Corporate my a**e, why because some people wearing white collared shirts drove the development of it?

All the elements are drawn from the history of the club, and the emblem is terrific.

So is it now open season on anything Schwab has implemented at the club is it?

Get a grip FFS!

The logo is fantastic.

The club went from no brand to a little brand. And now you want to get rid of a logo and a club branding that has arguably contributed to what is said to be the biggest sponsorship deal in the club's history?

Schwab's position has been to reinvent the brand. He did it, and did it well.

said before will say it again. Our new emblem is just that an emblem. It is not a small little logo that goes next to the name melbourne on the tv scoreboard. it should be used on 'big' things - walls, banners, backgrounds, leave it on the jumper. The little red 'v' on top of blue symbol that we all have as stickers on our cars is our long term 'logo' there is a massive difference. Both are still required.

Totally Disagree, this is the first plank on our way back to having Pride in ourselves again. It stays.

I do realise this is basically irrelevant this week but I agree - a logo/emblem should be simple, not try and signify the entire history of the club... in which case they should have left space for the image of a long-suffering dees supporter fashioning a noose out of his official 2011 scarf.

I quite liked the last 'back to basics' emblem we had - that's just me... stuff forking out $$$ to graphic designers. B)

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
