Hi All,

The day that I thought would never come has arrived. It is very deep regret that I inform you that after 11 years Demonland will be using advertising banners on the site. After many years of out of pocket expenses and despite many generous donations I have finally turned to the dark side. I have attempted to make the Google Ad banners as discrete as they can be and attempted to let them blend in with the look and feel of the site. They will be at the top of each page under the main banner, the bottom of the page and after the first post on a page (in this instance there will be no top banner).

For those who don't like the advertising banners I am offering a paid subscription based service that will remove the advertising banners from view whilst you are logged in. If there is enough interest I may offer a Members Only forum. This is not a cash grab and all money raised will go towards paying for and maintaining the site, the forum software as well as other associated costs. All remaining funds will be donated back to the footy club.

The costs for a Demonland.com membership is as follows:

Annual Demonland.com membership is $20 per year.

Lifetime Demonland.com membership is $50 for life. - You are also entitled to custom your own title (the wording under your avatar).

You can subscribed by clicking the Subscription tab under the main Demonland logo at the top of the page next to the Home tab and follow the prompts through to PayPal.

I understand that not everyone can afford this and membership is not required to sign up and read and post on the site. All I ask is that you occasionally look at the advertising and if something catches your fancy then by all means click on the link. Or you can just ignore it.

Thank you for your understanding.

Cheers and Go Dees,

Andy

Andy mate I doubt anyone would be anything but sympathetic. The work you put in is enormous and a bit of advertising here and there, whilst not ideal, is far from the end of the world.

I will ask Andy (and feel free if you don't want to answer) but is it based off clicks or views? I run Adblock software yet don't want to drain you of important funding for the site, so if it's based on that I'm fine with paying the premium fee.

I'm pretty sure it is click throughs.

Absolutely fair enough Andy. And I want to thank you for clarifying, as I was beginning to think I was losing the plot  Kept looking at these things, scratching my head and thinking "I'm sure I've never seen ads on here".

No worries Andy...Living costs money these days!!

How is the best way to pay membership fees...i have no problem with that if it keeps things ticking over.

I have blocked the more unsavoury forms of advertising such as Cosmetic Procedures & Body Modification, Dating, Drugs & Supplements, Get Rich Quick, Politics, Sex & Sexuality, Religion and Weightloss but some will obviously slip through the cracks. Since that makes up 99% of the internet I'm not sure what there is left to advertise.

Have you considered approaching the club to ask if a sponsor would like to come on board? Considering how many people view the site I would have thought there would be some interest? Just a suggestion, thanks for the work you do.

I just paid up Andy, and wanted to thank you for sponsoring the site till now. 10 yrs of looking after us Demon faithful.

...and I also want to congratulate you in being so considerate with your choice and placement of Ads. The Demonland faithful who aren't in a position to pay for a subscription, can at least enjoy the site without the Ads taking over.

Go Dees!

Lifetime membership for me.

When you think about the information and entertainment I've had through this forum over the past few years, it's money well spent. Hate to think how much you've spent on the site over the years.

Long time reader despite not posting much if at all. I took out an Annual Membership as that is all I can afford at the moment. I more than happy for it to be spent on a site that gives me so much enjoyment. I read it every day so I feel I should give back. Thanks to all involved.

I'll grab a membership too, as it is a great site. I will also click all the ads to!

Just opened up (and then closed) about 16 links, does that generate revenue?

I'm pretty sure it only counts one click through for each IP in a certain timeframe. Otherwise people would be rorting it even more than they are now and I'd spend my entire work day double dipping and clicking the ads on Demonblog.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
