1. Gawn - something happened every time he went near it.

* Appologise to Howe and Nicholson who both had great games, Moloney could have easily got in there also.

Lost of people hard done by not to get in. I also think my top three could have been in any order today. They were all brilliant. How good is it that we can have Green get 5 goals and 19 disposals and he isn't in the top 3 on the ground?

Just got home, haven't looked at the stats or anything yet and my memory is a bit sketchy after a few frothies. I'll probably watch the replay during the week and want to change my votes, but for now it's...

6. Martin - the most complete game i've seen from him. Probably beaten in the tapouts, but his work around the ground and up forward was just superb.

Apologies: Scully, Trengove, Nicho, MacDonald, Petterd and about 10 other blokes too... Lots of impressive performances today.

6 - McKenzie - Becoming one of the most important players in the team. Doesn't get the media coverage of other young players, but kept Pavlich out of the play on ball, got the hard ball, and went all day. Melbourne’s Sam Mitchell, and hard as a cats head.

5 - Martin - Dominant big man on the day. Did it in the middle and down forward. Genuine first ruckman. Must be on GWS radar.

4 - Watts - Complete game. Kicked goals, took marks, hit teammates on the chest, ran hard all day. Looks physically strong. Could have changed the top three in any order.

3 - Green - Best forward on the ground. Kicked goals when it mattered.

2 - MacDonald - Was solid in defence and provided good rebound. Not flashy, but .

1 - Gawn - Very good second ruck. Worked hard around the ground. Loved his attack on the ball at ground level. . Loved his attack on the ball for a big man and super fast.

Apologies to Sylvia, Howe, Nicolson, Frawley, thought they were good, but did a lot when the game was over.

Didn't consider Scully, got a lot of the ball, but it seemed that only about 20% of his disposals were good ones. To many up and under kicks, and handballs at players knees/hips/wrong side. So many times he had quick hands, but the receiving player had to break stride because the ball wasn't delivered to the right spot.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
