Some serious AFL talent playing in this VFL match:

Scully, Wonaeamirri, Fevola, Lake, Gilbee, Sherman, Addison, Hill, Hudson, Grant, Hahn...

and boy Vezspremi has failed to fulfil his promise, playing in the VFL reserves.

Not good signs.

Doggies seem to be in serious strife here. Lake, Gilbee, Vez having problems, Higgins looking more and more like a bust, Cooney in terrible form...

Looks like young Davis is back on the trail as well. Good luck to Scull & Troy.

However, the fact that there are so many Bulldogs available to play in the VFL suggests that they don't have a significant injury list which suggests that their problems are fairly deep.

good marker for those keen to see Gawn at AFL level - against Hudson (if he doesn't play for the Dogs). Campbell is missing from the teams and the injury list AFAIK.

Evans and Nicholson appear to have overtaken Strauss and Blease at this stage. Only going to get tougher with Scully and Trengove coming back which is good.

4 of those Dogs need to come out for the seniors bench (from Djerrkura, Hill, Hudson, Markovic, Moles, Reid, Sherman) so the Willi side is not as strong as it looks.

is there a suitable flight to Avalon? this could be good to see - look fwd to reports.

I'm keen to see. So I'll have some sort of a report from this game.

My young son will no doubt be looking forward to it in his no.31 ;)

If we're lucky we might even get it signed.

This year at Casey has been great, great on two fronts they are playing well and the amount of Melbourne players playing in the firsts. This week every available Melbourne Player is playing in the firsts. Last game I think we had 2 rookies in the 2nds and the rest in the 1sts. We need to be alligned in the VFL you imagine the club trying to find players to fill spots this week with all our injuries, we would be getting smacked and that doesn't help the development of players.

Does anyone know what has happened to Campbell?

Played half a game with the reserves two weeks back.

Not on either list at Casey and not on the injury list.

Is he the Phantom or what?

I went to this game last year (at williamstown )

Thought we had a fair chance and we got belted from memory by 15+

It was all over at half time.

Hope it is better tomorrow,

Last I heard he was injured with a minor knee problem but its strange that the Club has not got him on the injured list.Maybe they have run out of ink!

Strauss and Blease have both missed games (and training) recently through injury, and are probably a little underdone.

Now don't take this the wrong way but they have been underdone since we drafted them!

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
