  1. Was at training for about an hour - first time ever - and to me we looked sharp but i will leave the training report to the experts. I took some photo's on my iphone - how do i transfer and attach? Apologies i am a newbie at most of this stuff!!!
  2. The Fatman will be at his first ever training session tomorrow in support of this GREAT club - Go Dees
  3. Paid up - lifetime member - yeah And i have just racked up 21 years in a row as a member of the Dees - yeah again
  4. Russell "Rhino" Richards - only played 80 odd games and left the game at age 25 - was a ripper with great dash of the half back flank and you never knew where the ball was going to go
  5. Gary Dempsey - much maligned
  6. As John McInroe would say - You cannot be serious. Demon supporters need to make a stand and BE THERE
  7. Davey may have shown some sign's but he also was timid on at least two occasions during the third qtr.
  8. Travis Johnstone joins Chelsea Heights Football Club Chelsea Heights Football Club is extremely pleased to announce that former AFL star and No1 draft pick Travis Johnstone will become its Number 1 ticket-holder for 2012, and will represent the club this week against Highett in its first home game for the year. Johnstone was the first selection in the 1997 AFL Draft and played 209 games, kicking 135 goals. In 2002 he finished equal fourth in Brownlow Medal voting, and in 2005 he won the the Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Medal (Melbourne’s Best and Fairest Award), leading the AFL in total kicks. Johnstone produced a career-high 42 disposals in what would be his final game for the Demons in round 22 against Carlton, before migrating north to Brisbane Lions where he played 49 games. The Johnstone name has a rich history in the local area and at the Chelsea Heights Football Club. Travis’s grandfather Norm was recruited from Chelsea to Fitzroy where he became a legend and was named in the club’s Team of the Century as an on-baller. His father, Jim, coached Chelsea Heights to the Division 3 Premiership in 1995, until 1997 when Travis was drafted, while his uncle, Grant, was Chelsea Heights’ President during the same period. Chelsea Heights supporters and football enthusiasts in general should get down to Beazley Reserve this Saturday at 2pm to enjoy what should be a great day’s football and the continuation of a great family tradition in Demon colours.
  9. I am trying to word this correctly and hope it comes out that way. Let's not say "do it for Jimmy" as a mantra for motivation but rather a motivational mantra of "Whatever it Takes"
  10. An auld Irish toast to Jimmy Stynes: "May you be half-an-hour in heaven before the Devil knows your dead!". I'll be having Guinness or two tonight in the great man's honour. RIP Jimmy Stynes
  11. I too buy a full MFC membership which is a straight donation as I am also an MCC member. Buying a full MFC membership as an MCC member also gives me ONE junior MFC membership for free. To date I have used the junior MFC for my youngest daughter. From next season she will be too old for the junior membership. (Then like her two older siblings, she will become a concession MFC member). Will I forego the junior membership - NO. I will make sure the junior MFC membership goes to a budding junior Demon supporter. I will get 'junior' on board barracking for the mighty Dees at a young age. This is a chance to increase our membership numbers (but not necessarily dollars) - and it may even entice the parent(s) of 'junior' to become an MFC member. So my point is - if you are a full MFC/MCC member, then make sure you get the free junior membership and sign up a budding Demon supporter. Maybe the Football Club could identify those full MFC/MCC members who have not taken up the free junior membership and urge the full MFC/MCC member to sign up a budding Demon supporter.
  12. Why no fingers crossed for the Scull?
  13. Jetta is in - see mfc website
  14. Bailey clearly cannot get us fired up for the first qtr. Have excluded seasons 2008 and 2009 because we were a basket case (and after last night's pathetic/insipid performance (and add any other woeful adjective you want) some would say we still are a basket case!!). Season 2010 we were expected to improve and did. Season 2011 we were expected to further improve but after five games one would suggest this is not the case. So first quarter stats are for season 2010 and 2011 only. We have played a total of 29 games during that time and have won a total of 9 first quarters. We have won one first qtr this year - against the Suns - does that count?? Last year we won first qtrs against Collingwood (impressive), Richmond twice, Brisbane twice, Port once, Essendon once and Sydney once (impressive). Hardly brilliant stuff. I have been a supporter of Bailey but I am certainly wavering………. Bring on Roos or Malthouse - at least the players would play with passion like we did when Northey was in charge. Last night was as angry as I have been watching a Melbourne performance - but I will be there Sunday week against the Crows - Lift Dees, Lift Season 2010 Us Them Qtr Won/Lost Opponent Game Result Round 1 0.3.3 6.3.39 Lost Hawthorn Lost Round 2 4.5.29 2.2.14 Won Collingwood Lost Round 3 1.5.11 2.5.17 Lost Adelaide Won Round 4 8.1.49 5.2.32 Won Richmond Won Round 5 4.2.26 2.3.15 Won Brisbane Won Round 6 2.1.13 3.3.21 Lost Kangas Lost Round 7 0.6.6 3.2.20 Lost Bulldogs Lost Round 8 1.3.9 3.0.18 Lost Eagles Lost Round 9 5.2.32 3.3.21 Won Port A Won Round 10 2.1.13 5.5.35 Lost Geelong Lost Round 11 2.2.14 7.4.46 Lost Carlton Lost Round 12 3.2.20 4.8.32 Lost Collingwood Draw Round 13 1.3.9 4.6.30 Lost Adelaide Lost Round 14 3.3.21 3.4.22 Lost St Kilda Lost Round 15 6.2.38 3.4.22 Won Essendon Won Round 16 1.2.8 6.3.39 Lost Fremantle Lost Round 17 8.2.50 2.1.13 Won Sydney Won Round 18 4.3.27 2.2.14 Won Brisbane Won Round 19 3.1.19 2.5.17 Won Richmond Won Round 20 4.1.25 4.1.25 Draw Hawthorn Lost Round 21 2.6.18 3.2.20 Lost Port A Lost Round 22 3.3.21 5.4.34 Lost Kangas Lost Season 2011 Us Them Qtr Won/Lost Opponent Game Result Round 1 3.2.20 5.3.33 Lost Sydney Draw Round 2 3.1.19 2.8.20 Lost Hawthorn Lost Round 3 1.1.7 5.2.32 Lost Brisbane Won Round 4 6.2.38 3.2.20 Won Suns Won Round 6 0.2.2 5.3.33 Lost Eagles Lost

  16. Am in a pick the season in advance tipping comp and had the following: Collingwood - 21 Wins Saints - 18 Bullies - 17 Dorks - 16 Deeeessss- 15 Swanies - 14 Crows - 14 Cats - 13 Carlton - 11 kangas - 10 Tullarmine - 7 Lions - 6 Tiges - 4 Port - 4 Eagles - 3 Suns - 2 After round one I certainly would have changed some of my tips - Tullamarine and the Tiges to win more games and the 'Aints and Doggies less wins but that's the way it is............
  17. I too am an MCC/MFC full member. $13 every time I go thru the gate. Based on those figures I would contribute around $250 to $300 myself a season to the MFC coffers. Go Dees
