Protest for Jack....

Pates

Recommended Posts

I think before the game as soon as the clock strikes 2pm. Everyone should bring a packet and pelt them from everywhere!!

Yeah better do it before play starts or else we might get 3 weeks jail for trying to intentionally cause injury to a player...

If you want a visible protest that is not over the top, how about when the coin is tossed every Melbourne supporter stand up and turn his back on the ground until the game starts and do the same thing for the whole 1/4 and 3/4 breaks. Also we don't buy anything at the ground so that their figures are affected. I can tip off a few mates in the media who will be on to it.

Yup not bad Redleg....I might do it for the rest of the season..

It will only be effective if several thousand people do it. You would have to leak it to the media so other Demon fans know what is being planned.

Marshmallow tossing?

Oh that's easily high, negligent, rough, excessive force and behind play. 10 weeks. Minimum.

Campbell Brown is all over this one.

im just not going to this game.... too pissed off..

As has been said already - don't let your anger at the AFL stop you from supporting the MFC, or more specifically the boys on the field.

A better option would be just to wear a black band seen as football has officially "died"

Hmmm. I'm not sure I'd be too keen this weekend. I imagine the players will be wearing black arm bands out of respect for Chris's late dad.

Didn't they have them last weekend for that reason?? If not then you are dead right.

nice pun...

Anyway, the best one is to copy the Carey stuff. Wayne Carey's game for Adelaide against the Roos, the most noticeable banners were those that were hung off the end of the third tier, tied to the poles at the top.

Simple way to do it.

- Get a bedsheet and some poster paint.

- Paint your message

- Tie the corners of the bedsheet to the poles at the game.

You would need to get to the game earlyish so you got the seats to tie it there though.

String a bunch of those up and everyone will notice.

It would never happen, what would be great to see is a gentleman's agreement between the two sides to not lay a tackle at all in the first quarter... a preview of where the game is headed with such decisions?

Since seeing this idea posted on another thread here, I have been posting it everywhere I can think of, and apparently the HS newsdesk are aware of it now. So, everyone wear one to the game this week, because there will be people watching! I will be taking some black duct tape to the game this week, and trying to get people to wear it. If everyone did the same, we might get some attention. Although, as the jacket I wear to the footy is dark blue (well, duh of course it is!), the black might not stand out, so I need to work out what to do about this. I have pushed it on the Free Demon Jack webpage, where there are supporters of other clubs involved, and hopefully some of the more fired up ones will do the same, but I would say that all the attention will be at our game.

I'd be in for this one as well.

Would have been genius had it been intended. It actually took me a minute to see what you meant

I'm starting to like this Idea.

I live in Sydney, and would love to be there to join, but I love this idea and it would be so amazing to see on tele. Imagine the embarrassment the occupants of the ivory tower would feel. They hate bad publicity so much, it would be genius.

Why dont we pelt Dimwits house in Toorak with Marshmallows????

This was my line line of thinking but I'd rather we pelted Dimwit himself with marshmallows .

He's single handedly destroying the game since he started bleating about mothers of juniors when he took over .

Football is/was a modern day gladiator sport FFS and the use of aggression was 1 of the main drawcards both for those who played and those who watched .

As for the other stuff like pelting the ground etc , unless we get it out into the media the excercise will be a fizzer .

I reckon a protest is fine if we're inclined but I would be against anything during play or at a quarter time break due to the potential to impact on players. Before (between warm ups and players running out) or half time would be the best options IMO.

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
