I'll be there on Mother's Day. For ever watchful. C'mon Dees.

Looking forward to continue watching this young group grow together. Big test against the Crows.

There were 16K at Etihad for Nth last week. There were only 33K at the Essendon game. Ours is on Mother's Day, so all in all 25K + would be a good result IMO.

You are right but some demonlanders want 40 000 along on sunday.

It simply won't happen. We only have 34706 members and I am sure they will not all turn up on Sunday. as you suggest 25K including some crows will be a good result

Will be there with bells on,

People all want the best for the club well turn up and put it thru the gates, the only way we will land a "BIG FISH" is if we turn a big profit this year, yes the debt is gone but that is alot due to demolition and donation.... if crowds drop so will MFC bottom line.

The better the crowds for the rest of the year the better placed MFC will be in the future, regardless of coaches and results, we can drive the clubs off field position

exactly right - what is the crowd required to break even for a home game at the G again?? ~20K?

turn up, with or without a sign, whatever. turn up!

I went to every single Victorian match between 2007-2009 (in fact, I haven't missed a Vic game since I was on school camp in 99!), so I'm not about to start skipping games because we suck. I'm used to it

Whilst its really a minor thing, it being mothers day wont help. The people who are a bit like, "I dont want to watch us lose" just have an extra excuse not to go.

I don't think it's a 'minor thing'. Plenty of people don't religiously attend games so questions like 'do I have a function on' or 'is it likely to be enjoyable' are pretty valid questions.

I'll be there, but then I've been a masochist for 45 years

Watching the Aints/Crows game, the Aints played a zoning game for the first half and got smashed. In the 2nd half they went man-on-man (they HAVE a planB) and with more accurate goal kicking and a little luck could have pulled it off.

Sadly I expect melbourne to zone off as usual let the ball into the half backline like a Crows training drill and get smashed in the 1st Q. I can't see Bails having the guts to change his game plan and give the kids a chance to show some intensity, courage and close-up contesting.

I hope I am wrong (sincerely). Definitely a time for line-in-the-sand but it won't happen if we play wide of the Crows

There is more than one of you DC I have had the same problem for the same time I live in hope.

Perhaps that is all we have left.

I hold similar grave fears on sunday hope we are both seriously mistaken.

Absolutely Demon supporters, this is the bottom line...We must turn up to our home games & make plenty of noise, particularly after last thursday night, to let the club no we do care what happens...If any of you guys cannot get to the game, send a mate in on your ticket who can.

Bums on seats Demons...and that includes the week after as well.

Make noise for long enough & the Club will feel the energy..Energy helps make things grow.

We should all come this weekend and be positive and be as one. This is a very critical time for us and we need to be shown as supporters.

Club before negativity.

We are all justifiably annoyed - but support shouldn't be conditional on success; that's fairweather crap.

Well said by all.

Crowd for the Crows game last year was 23k. Can't see it being too much different. Probably lower when you factor in Mothers' Day. I would guess 19,500.

Too many lame excuses about Mothers Day.

My mum knows very well that she gets either breakfast or dinner, and if she wants to spend the whole day with us she has to come to the footy. Toughen up your mums people! B)

Or she will continue to think of you as her greatest failure. Either way, you ain't fixing anything by skipping the footy.

Believe it or not some peole have other things in their lives besides the MFC.

Especially when families arrange a get together for lunch and the afternoon.

" sorry I won't be there"

"why not"?

"Because I am going to see the Dees"

"You mean you are putting that bunch of softies before mum and the rest of us

There are plenty more matches you Know"!

It happens to lots of people and they are the ones that actually want to see the Dees before their mother and family.

Unfortunately My mum is long gone but the dees would not have come between me and her.

Remember guys it is only a bloody football match!

Dying to see if any of these proposed banners get a run of if it's just waffle.

P.S - Watch out if you're taking your mum to dinner after the game, she won't like it when you sit there silently muttering about how much you hate footy.

Really? My mum has come to expect that of me.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
