Hi, I'm DA, and I'm a Demonologist.

I first tried Demonolgy back in 2004. I had dabbled with other forums on the internet, just for recreation, but found myself chasing something more.

So one day, I tried Demonology, I thought I could just try it once or twice and move on, but before I knew it, I was hooked.

I'd find myself out at all hours of the night, with one thing on my mind, "I need to check Demonology."

I'd steal my friends mobile phones if they had internet, or WAP as the kids called it back then. It wasn't the same as the good sh-t (my pc), but it was a quick relief.

I'd find myself sneaking out of bed, needing a fix just to take the edge off, if my girlfriend caught me in the act I'd tell her it was nothing, "it's just porn" I'd tell her.

I've had many highs and lows on Demonology, but the highs just aren't what they were at first any more.

So now I take my methadone... I mean Demonland once a day, and try to lead a normal life. But I must admit, I still give 'ology the odd sniff.

I have owned you on many occasions.

I LOLed!

I remember back in the good old days, there were literally 15 posters on this site, they were all old and knowledgeable and I was a pleb.

Quality must have significantly decreased since then because I don't think I could make the top 15 idiot list on this site anymore.

I enjoy reading both forums(?fora).

I love the opportunity to see the opinions of so many people as obsessed with the fortunes of the Demons as I am.

I've learned a lot about football and the MFC from erudite people like WJ sand G Smith.

I was unaware of bitter in-fighting at Demonology. Some posters are unable to express a differing opinion without denigrating someone who has a different viewpoint. It happens at 'Land too. I just skip those posts.

So "Hey All"....I say, keep your links to 'Ology!

yeah it's pretty amazing when you think about it, having forums to read and contribute to just increases your insight, knowledge and overall engagement with supporting the club, especially if you don't know a huge number of Dees supporters personally, which must be very common considering our relatively sparse supporter base. You know everyone here has a particular strong addiction to the Dees, unlike a lot of more fairweather types that support all clubs, you need people who obsess over every detail. It has strengthened my love for the game/club a lot.

Care to name the top 15?

Don't be so harsh on yourself, I am sure you can still give that list a good shake! :P

I'm sensing some jealousy.

I suppose it must be hard not being significant enough to make a top 15 list. No matter how bad that list may be :P

im sure it would be easy to get onto that list. all one has to do is make broad generalisations that are completely wrong.

for example.

jack watts is crap and should be delisted. has shown nothing.

dean bailey is hopeless and needs to get the sack.....we should poach sheedy from GWS.

etc

It gets a bit dull after a while Chopper. I might pop up here a little more often too.

The traffic has certainly slowed at O'logy. For example 6 threads have been posted on today at O'logy. And there would be lucky to be - on a quick count - 20 posts registered there today. That is a treacle. That said, it is the off season. However, in comparison...there is an avalanche of posts posted here today.

To be fair, some of Ology's best posters go into hibernation out of season.

For the record, I post here but not over there where they already have a Deeman and I would struggle if I took on a different identity over there.

I joined 'Ology at the end of Danihers rein with a serious need to vent .

My savage beast was soon soothed with his sacking and I slowly got addicted to the discussions though posters like TGR and his idol Guant drove me insane with their self love . It also seemed at the time if your posts didn't number in the several thousands your opinion was irrelevant.

Though I would check in at times , it's only been of late that I've migrated here drawn to the more consistant traffic in the off season and have enjoyed what I've found . Looking forward to the season now .

P.s. IRW crackes me up .

Well, just seven posts so far today on Demonology... but the strange thing is that where previously during the off-season there was a great deal of activity in the General forum (and it could get very heated/lively), there has not been a single post in that forum today (and just one post yesterday). Sadly, the way things are looking and unless someone can open it up to new memberships, I fear it will be lucky to see in season 2011.

Why do you think there has been no traffic on the general board Hardtack?

Think about it?

Who were the posters that kept the site active during the off season and where are they now.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
