  1. Malthouse loves Dick so I think it's a straight in for mine. Whilst Dick is good, even at his hardest I feel about 3/4 of the CollingWood team could eat Dick for breakfast. The prospect of a fully fit Dick on Queen's Birthday gets me excited. The question does remain though. In all seriousness, which "lucky" Melbourne defender takes Dick? Do we stick Batram on Dick and hope he can absorb Dick's explosiveness, or do we make someone else take Dick or perhaps just leave it up to the lose man in defense? FWIW I rate Dick and if we're not careful he could [censored] us. We must stay tight in the back half.
  2. Nice!! Old enough to have a record made of vinyl yet tech savy enough to be able to use the Internets! Love it. Of course the album and track list need to be updated to be relevant for today. Here's my take: Side 1: 1. Liam Jurrah - Given to Fly - Pearl Jam 2. Colin Sylvia - Your so Vain - Carly Simon 3. Tom Scully - Please don't go - KWS 4. Brent Moloney - Party all night - Sean Kingston 5. Jamie Bennell - Part time lover - Stevie Wonder 6. Jack Watts - Question Existing - Rihanna Side 2: 1. Mathew Warnock - How to Disappear Completely - Radiohead 2. James Frawley - Solid as a Rock - Sizzla 3. Rohan Bail - Run - Snow Patrol 4. Luke Tapscott - I feel the Earth Move - Martika 5. Jordie McKenzie - Closer - Nine Inch Nails 6. Michael Newton - Nothingman - Pearl Jam **Bonus track- Jim Stynes - MFC - Pearl Jam**
  3. When McKenzie comes back into the midfield I would like to see Bail in Tapscott's position and Tapscott up forward. Bennell and Dunn to rotate sub for a couple of weeks.
  4. Give him a chance to give you those results. I will admit I haven't been overly thrilled with all aspects of our game as of late, but everyone can see the work that has been put in to get us to base camp, now give our sherpa a chance to lead us up the mountain damn it.
  5. Religious discussions. Brilliant. Let's leave the Science Vs fairy tales debate to another forum shall we.
  6. You know what it is? It's the curvature of the "p" and the "g" on the other side of the small "l" which makes it appear an "i" I have good eyesight but it is like some kind of eye trickery. Surely you can see it. I call for a poll on this. I know a great deal of folk here would have made that mistake..
  7. So he is ruthless in getting us to where we are and it took balls and you are impressed with that, but he makes Watts a sub for a week and he has lost you? I don't understand how you can question his coaching abilities over one decision which hasn't even been proven to be a bad one. I was initially dumbfounded as to why Watts was named sub, but then I thought about it a bit. What if naming Watts a sub instead of starting him was a msg that full games/starting on the field isn't always a walk up proposition, perhaps it could ignight some kind of competition in the lad. What if they thought he could gain just as much from the lesson that not being an automatic selection brings- ie "You want a spot on an AFL field, well it's a competitive game, and position for that matter, so bring your "A" game. Maybe smashing the AFL newbies wouldn't have been as confidence boosting as everyone thinks. Everyone (at that stage) thought they stinked anyway. What if they thought as much confidence could be gained out of one quarter of play as apose to 4. Who knows, there are many different aspects to footy. Give Bailey a chance to prove what he can do with this list instead of looking for any excuse to jump ship so soon.
  8. Standard light hearted Before the Game interview. So it was generally a nothing much interview. I like the guy. I genuinely hope he succeeds
  9. Only if he got higher than a 91 % mark in English Level 3 haha
  10. Those figures were fudged. I hear 145 is genius levels..
  11. I must say in wyl's defense that up until recently I thought your name was pig too. Easy mistake as any monkey can see it's very easy to confuse. I thought someone with an IQ of 145 would have been able to use their brilliant mind to figure that one out. Are you punking Demonland? You have me in tears with your need for attention.
  12. Haha good point. Paraphrasing here because was cooking at the time- Asked about why Watts was sub instead of whole game- Watts was seen as the most out of form forward/it was a form thing- didn't elaborate too much on it, think he was seen as the 22nd best at the time, which contradicts the theory that a sub should be a horses for courses scenario- not your 22nd player. Some footage was shown of Chippa with Prince William and was asked if he'd take William over Watts, some banter ensued and it was revealed William was unwilling to put on one of our jumpers (the pompous [censored]) also that Watts was stronger and a better kick than William, Watts has put on a fair bit of weight since being at the MFC etc Asked about Carro's article and if he took anything from the lack of praise on the coaching department. Didn't see anything wrong with it and spoke to Schwabby about it.. didn't hear too much about this as was pre-occupied- sorry. Shown footage of a rather enamoured Davey with his arm around Bails in a quarter time huddle. Funny stuff. Standard Before the Game fare.
  13. Compairing today's game with ours last week is a pointless exercise. Results are largely based on a team's endeavour and motivation on the day. All this puts into perspective is how dire Port's situation is right now. They are where we were a few years ago. Rudderless.
  14. Was it via private facebook message? Pretty concerning!
  15. Needs match fitness- although it's just a shitty NAB Challenge match he will probably be better for it. Can't exclude on the chance of an injury as it could just as easily happen in round 1 (heaven forbid) Although in saying that would much prefer Jamar have a rest. Give Spencer a full match with Martin backing up. Injury to Jamar will hurt us most.
  16. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/108715/default.aspx Aaron Davey, Jack Grimes, Jack Trengove and Clint Bartram have been rested from that loss, while Colin Garland (calf) is injured. (From article) Brisbane squad- http://www.lions.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/5085/newsid/108702/default.aspx Black and Power to return. Good. Very excited to see Tapscott coming on for his first run. Although I won't actually be seeing it.. Will be interesting to see how the backline holds up with no Garland (anyone know anything about his injury), Grimes or Batram. Un-pleased about not seeing Blease- would have loved to see if he could play a running half back role as I feel he could be the talent we are screaming out for. What is wrong with him. Hopefully the great un-washed don't feel it necessary to dish it out to Scully. Someone better be on head-butt patrol.
  17. We looked a little "fire engine red" yesterday, as opposed to "magenta" against the swans, and indeed traditional "red" FWIW I thought we looked smashing..
  18. Stephanie Gilmore deserves top spot upon all these lists. George Sotiropoulos deserves a spot too- toughest sport in the world and has only lost one fight out of 16 professional bouts (lost one, dq another)- won his last 7 fights in the UFC (throw in a couple more for the TUF series, loss came after receiving a finger in the eye) and had it not been for the fact he is in an ultra-competitive weight class could easily be current light weight champion of the world. Special mention for most courageous sportperson; Anna Mears. Champion stuff, coming back from the brink like that, was truly moved after her Comm games performance!
  19. This whole saga was born from a rumour, many people are jumping at shadows and forming their own conclusions from assumptions that have been tailor made to suite their own fears. I strongly believe at the end of the year when the kid re-signs there will be a lot of embarrassed posters. Chill out a little buddy, it's not always doom and gloom at the MFC..
  20. Nice post and I agree. Point 3 sums it up nicely for me, at the end of the day it is the positives that will keep him at Melbourne and the extra money on offer from GWS (whatever it indeed is) wouldn't be enough to pluck him out of his current environment. Logic 101..
  21. You were listening to SEN last Saturday weren't you? I heard it too. "Terry" a North supporter infuriated me, I talked about his rant in the Scully to GWS thread. It is a case of jealousy. Plain and simple. They crave the attention we received and they never get it. My theory is that they are a boring club- boring colours, boring strip, boring mascot, boring name. White and blue stripes invoke no stimuli, a kangaroo is a dull marsupial. Even their name; "North Melbourne" suggests they are a sub district club who lack the presence to claim their own territory. They have low membership numbers and the only media attention they get is via scandals/shenanigans. In a state with 9 Victorian teams some teams are going to get more attention than others. I would argue that out of all of them, North receive the least amount of attention by far. Why do they have to target us? Maybe because they feel their progress has been on par or greater than ours but we get all the acknowledgements, I would be [censored] if I were them too but I wouldn't be displaying it the same way as them, having a sook on the radio ffs. Hope they fold. Damn you "Terry"
  22. You would want to be putting that on ebay ASAP as there are less than 2 weeks till the event, and there is the possibility it may pass at auction (harder selling single tickets sometimes) and you will have to re-list. Hope your mate will cover it if any problems selling, that's pretty disappointing.. Thiago Silva tested positive but no news if he will be pulled out of Rampage fight. If he does (which he will) Evans to replace. So Rampage V Evans II!
  23. I really want North to fold, there is only one Melbourne. What's this North [censored]?
