You're welcome to express a view. I'm not sure why people would have a problem with what you've said.

I really like it. And I did the moment I saw it. When one starts analysing all that's in it I can understand some thinking that it's a bit busy. But I can only go off my initial reaction.

As another poster pointed out, an emblem is different to a logo. This emblem wraps up 150 years of history in a stylish and vibrant manner.

I wouldn't change a thing. B)

Concur entirely with Hannabal. Excellent representation of what the club stands for.

Amen H, well said....

It is a beautiful, all encompassing (150+ years) design that does what it set out to do.

Congratulations to those that designed it, job well done!!!

The emblem itself for me has way too much going on and for mine really says we couldn't quite decide what we are so we have included everything.

For me this emblem is more enduring than anything we have had before and rightfully emphasises our position in the history of the game.

I've heard a lot of people say that it's "too busy" but nobody has articultaed why this is a bad thing or why having a our emlblem telling a story about our football club is a bad thing.

If we are totally honest as outsiders looking at our current emblem it may as well belong to a bank?

Very big fan. Only a few teams have proper 'emblems' and this one is the best by some margin.

The last three years are truly amazing! And I think the Emblem and the presentation on the Web is the best effort I have seen in my 55 years of being a supporter and Member of the MFC.

I am not the youngest member by a long shot and my financial contribution to the “debt reduction” has been modest however I contribute where possible to a lifelong love affair.

Three years ago I thought we were headed to Sydney to become the “West Sydney Demons”

However they have turned the club around from $5 million in debt to no debt and what looks like a healthy profit this year.

The side has gone from Hopeless to being able to compete with any side in the competition.

Who knows were from here but I have the feeling it is up not down.

Congratulations to everyone at the MFC for their hard work over the last three years.

Would this have happened without one J Stynes?

I seriously doubt it.

The saying goes ”The Good Die Young” well I have a feeling you are about to prove that saying wrong Jim.

More power to you and most of all good health.

Awesome emblem, love the deep thought and meaning behind every aspect of it!

Brillant!! and then video is one of the best pieces of marketing the club has ever done....its all clicking into place.

Can't wait to get my new gear next year with the emblem on it. And I think it should become part of the jumper so the players are constantly reminded of what they represent.

Wow.

What a great concept.

Its still so unbelievable to me the change and energy Jimmy stynes has brought back to ths club.

Everyone has backed his vision beautifully and thats why its all worked so well. Such a team effort.

So proud to be a dees supporter, as always.

For those who dont like it or think its too busy.. well, its a shame you've missed the point.

You want it to look good, of course, but the focus is on paying respect to our history, where we've come from and what we've done for the game.

..and theres a lot to cover.

I agree wholeheartedly - couldn't have said it better.

Great "emblem", not a "logo". People are entitled to disagree.

A lot people I have spoken with also think it's a tad busy.

I think it works and I like it a lot.

So happy with the club right now.

I hope they release this as a quality shield that you can buy from the Demonshop. I would love to have a proper shield (similar to say a family coat of arms) up on the wall. That emblem/logo/shield what ever you want to call it looks fantastic. I'm sure many Dees supporters would part with their hard earned for one of those.

That emblem is one of the Greats on this PLANET. Instills History, Passion Strength, Mateship, Australia, What we were, are and will be. Friendship Loyalty, Family-You name it, it's there. Wow i am proud i was born into a melbourne Family. We are the custodians of Australian Rules.

Well done to all involved. The Emblem must be a busy visual-we are the oldest sporting club on earth, so we have been through a lot, and it sure aint finished yet.

Video

Go Dees

If I wasn't a Demon supporter before seeing that video I'd change teams. Great stuff.

Edit - On SEN around 2pm they played a line or two of a poem about the club that was recited last night. Does anyone have the full transcript or a vid link to it?

Love it. As previously stated, clear & concise.

What a time to launch it too, having wiped off the debt. Timing is everything.

I assume we'll see something tonight on TFS.

As an earlier poster said an emblem is not necessarily a logo. It needs to have some depth to it, or it means nothing.

The emblem for Australia is quite complex and has a story, which I remember having to learn as a kid in the 50s - not sure if they teach that now?

The video sets the story in stone. It is a brilliant piece. Every piece of the "puzzle" is clearly explained.

Everyone now knows, what the symbols mean, in very clear terms.

It will be used as the club identifying symbol where appropriate.

Out of it, might come a simple version, which will be recognized as the (or,a) club logo.

In other cases, the Demon will likely fill the bill.

I am not sure if this will be on our RED & BLUE jumper?

But, it should be!

After so many years in the wilderness, I now feel I am a member of a club who is proud of its heritage, but more, knows where it's going !

Go Dees!!

Is it wrong to be sitting here with tears welling whilst watching that?

It's not wrong. It's natural. I've forwarded the link you provided to my dad. He'll love that.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
