He is one of the most passionate on the field and in the change rooms...... Great to see the boys get to celebrate a win..... Hopefully they get the hunger for a few more.....

It was hilarious! So good to watch though.. makes you feel proud to be a dees supporter again seeing that sort of passion!

Posted

Yeah he goes so nuts it looks funny but I can understand the passion, Love it!

Imagine when he wins a premiership with us, i think he will actually explode :P

Also great to see Grimes and Jurrah in the middle getting sprayed with the water bottles.....hopefully Champagne in a few years...

Moloney is a champion, loves the club and sings with passion good on him. Go dees

I'd say Grimes would have loved it as well.

9 games, 8 loses, and to sing the song of the club he grew up barracking for would have been fantastic for him. Probably a moment he dreamt of as a kid, and to know that he had a huge hand in helping us win just makes it so much better.

If you look at the vision of them singing the song, you can see Watts in the outer circle singing too!

On my DVD recorder ;)

Foxtel will have a replay of the game sometime during the week, if you've got it.

Theres nothing better. He gets into and I like that.

Plays for the jumper.

Did you see him at quarter time yelling at the players to get in and when they were there (midfielders etc) his eyes were bulging pratically with the force of what he was saying to them. Good God isnt this what we want from our team leaders every week. After one of the goals, I can't remember which one, he ran up to the player (obviously smaller than him) and grabbed and shook him up and down - funny as but great to see. I wish Cam was a bit more like this - where it on his sleeve more.

Wasn't that keen to come initially - but, when he came down and saw that this a real footy club, he loved it.

In his first practice match against the Crows, I saw him give TJ an absolute mouthful for some undisciplined act that Trapper was good at.

I hope he continues to have a fantastic season.

Just finished watching the replay on the AFL website. I knew he had a good game (i had him in my votes), but i didn't realsie how good it was until seeing it again. The amount of hardwork he does in the stoppages and inside tight contested situations is amazing. Blocks, shepherds, tackles, all great. He was everywhere on Saturday, and his ball-use by both hand and foot was superb. Would be close to winning the B&F this year, up with Davey and Sylvia, you'd think.

Always been a favorite of mine has Beamer and seeing him belt that song out with gusto... now that's passion! I hope he's the next long-term captain of the club. Strong, passionate, hard-working, and a true leader. Not the best player in the team, but he's all heart and leads by example, both on and off the field.

Geelong were always going to trade players for picks to get Ottens, apparently at the time they were initially shopping Kelly and Tenace around, but we were adamant on getting Moloney (our midfield was severely lacking hardness at the time). Cats fans i know have always rated Moloney as 'the one that got away'. Took him a while to get his body right, but he's finally playing some consistent good footy this year.

Growing up a Demons supporter as a kid, i'm sure he was more than happy to come to the Dees. The Cat's just weren't that keen to trade him.

I remember the Pies wanted Tenace or Kelly or Bartel for their first pick. Geelong flat out said no.

We snuck and the deal was done with Moloney for Pick pick 12 (maybe 14, whatever we got from the Scottie Thompson deal).

Moloney is a warrior but bloody Scott Thompson.

I doubt that. And since when did Cats fans have a say in that.

The Cats rated Moloney so highly that they got rid of him to get a part of premiership ruckman. The Cats won hands down with this. We are still waiting on the payback for pick 12 understanding Beamers crud run of OP.

Geelong have a Premiership & Brad Ottens. Adelaide have Scott Thompson. We have a passionate Moloney (bad bout of OP) who loves belting out our song.

You doubt that? So you're calling Doggo a liar basically. And where did Doggo say Cats fans make the decisions?

Jesus RR, this is your pet peeve isn't it?

Everytime someone intimates that Geelong were loathed to get rid of Moloney you play the role Lord Killjoy III.

Have a few Geelong friends, they love the way Moloney goes about his footy. Wish they could have figured out another way but understand it helped them win a flag.

Enough said. Move on.

By the by, there was one orgasmic play in the second when Moloney looked like he was being gang tackled and broke through and free and sent it in and I believe Petterd got a softy. He's bloody strong in the centre.

Would be up there with Bruce and Davey for the Bluey.

Now on BipPondVideo for those interested

Awesome Moloney. He'd be great taking off Jimmy Barnes!

What a stupid thing to say mate.

Firstly, what did we give away for Beamer? Pick 12. Guess who went at pick 12. Danny Meyer who was delisted by the Tigers and is now a fringe player at Port (We took the Master at 13 FWIW).

We gave up a pick that would not have benefited us in the long run for a guy who bleeds for the club and is a potential captain. Geelong on-traded the pick to Richmond for Geelong, it isn't like we were the ones who gave up Ottens.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
